A loudspeaker arrangement comprises a mid-range loudspeaker arranged in a dashboard of a vehicle, a first tweeter arranged adjacent to the mid-range loudspeaker in the dashboard of the vehicle, and a second tweeter arranged adjacent to the mid-range loudspeaker in the dashboard of the vehicle. The mid-range loudspeaker is arranged between the first tweeter and the second tweeter. The mid-range loudspeaker is a non-directional loudspeaker that radiates sound towards a driver's seat and towards a passenger seat in equal parts. The first tweeter is a directional loudspeaker that radiates sound primarily towards the passenger seat, and the second tweeter is a directional loudspeaker that radiates sound primarily towards the driver's seat.

Methods and systems are provided for a portable speaker arranged in a vehicle. In one example, a system comprises a speaker configured to dock mechanically to a docking station in an area of a vehicle, wherein the speaker further comprises a removable battery.

Modular removable speaker system

A sound system configured to output sound signals to a user located in a defined environment, comprising a plurality of transducers configured to output the sound signals, a processing unit configured to individually control at least an electrical delay, a frequency characteristic and a sound level with which the sound signals transmitted to the plurality of transducers are output by each of the plurality of transducers, and a seat for a user to which the sound signals are output, the seat comprising a seating surface and a backrest configured support a back of the user sitting on the seating surface. The backrest comprises an upper surface defining an upper end surface of the backrest. The defined environment influences the sound signals as perceived by the user sitting on the seat.

Sound system with improved width of the perceived sound signal

An in-vehicle noise-cancellation system may optimize far-end user experience. The noise-cancellation system may incorporate real-time acoustic input from the vehicle, as well microphones from a telecommunications device. Audio signals from small, embedded microphones mounted in the vehicle can be processed and mixed into an outgoing telecom signal to effectively cancel acoustic energy from one or more unwanted sources in the vehicle. Multiple microphones may be mounted to headrests and spaced apart in one or more directions to give an indication of the direction of incoming sound from one or more listening zones so that sounds from certain zones may be suppressed. Unwanted noise captured by the embedded microphones may be used as direct inputs to the noise-cancellation system. As direct inputs, these streams can, therefore, be cancelled from the outgoing telecom signal, thus providing the user's far-end correspondent with much higher signal-to-noise ratio, call quality, and speech intelligibility.

Acoustical in-cabin noise cancellation system for far-end telecommunications

A portable loudspeaker having a sound generating unit configured to output a sound signal with a stand-alone frequency characteristic when the portable loudspeaker is used in a stand-alone operating mode and to output a sound signal with a connected frequency characteristic when the portable loudspeaker is used in a connected operating mode. The connected operating mode is defined when the portable loudspeaker is received by a docking module in a vehicle and is configured to enhance a bass output as compared to the stand-alone frequency characteristic.

The present disclosure relates to vehicle speaker systems and configurations. In one embodiment, a vehicle headrest is provided including a head support, loudspeakers, and loudspeaker supports. A device for radiating sound energy into the surroundings and receiving sound energy from the surroundings, where the device comprises a housing having a top portion, a side portion and a bottom portion wherein a loudspeaker unit is provided in the top portion configured to generate sound energy in the surroundings of the device and where the housing is further provided with a microphone having an inlet portion, where the microphone is configured to receive sound energy from a sound reception region that is in acoustic communication with said surroundings of the device, wherein the sound reception region is provided adjacent the bottom portion of the housing, such that the inlet portion of the microphone faces away from the top portion of the device. In an embodiment the sound reception region is partially bounded by an inclined surface portion at the outer circumferential edge portion of the bottom portion, where the inclined surface portion preferably forms an angle &#x3b1; less than 45 degrees with the bottom portion.

Loudspeaker and microphone device

The invention relates to a loudspeaker system or device configured such that the sound field generated by the system or device is controllable. The system or device comprises Left () and Right () loudspeaker arrangements configured for radiating at least mid and high frequency sounds to the surroundings (R) and for controlling the sound radiation pattern () of the left and right loudspeaker arrangements, respectively, such that the beam width and/or direction of the main lobe of the directivity pattern for the respective Left and Right loudspeaker arrangements can be varied; and at least one signal processor configured to process the signals to be provided to the loudspeakers of the respective loudspeaker arrangements such that the directional characteristics of the loudspeakers in each respective arrangement can be varied. The system or device may further comprise a low frequency arrangement comprising an arrangement of one or more loudspeakers () mounted in an enclosure () and configured such that the loudspeakers radiates sound energy to the surroundings (R). The low frequency arrangement may be configured as a bass-reflex enclosure with a wide port region. By means of the system or device according to the invention, the resulting directional characteristic of the system or device can be adapted to numerous specific use situations, for instance to obtain a stereo-stabilizing effect on a perceived sound image.

A loudspeaker comprising a moving coil and a membrane fastened to a chassis, where the membrane is divided into a concentrically disposed inner membrane part and a concentrically disposed outer membrane part, whereby a meeting area is defined between the inner membrane part and the outer membrane part, the inner membrane part being fastened to an inner moving coil and the outer membrane part being fastened to an outer moving coil.

Double-dome speaker

A special Hi-Fi tweeter having a ring-shaped dome portion with a retracted central portion fixed to the tweeter chassis was found to present an objectionable drop of response in the 18-20 KHz range. According to the invention this problem is eliminated or minimized in placing in front of said central area a forwardly projecting, generally conical wave guide (,) that will minimize interferences between sound waves radiated forwardly and inwardly from the ring shaped dome. An alternative solution is to arrange, in front of a wider central portion, a shield member directly preventing external radiation from the critical central area, still without changing the shape of the diaphragm. However, also certain modifications are proposed, which may well be used in connection with ordinary dome speakers.
