A vacuum cleaner having a separation device and a vacuum source communicating with a tube handle. The tube handle is connected to a nozzle by a tube shaft (33). The tube shaft is either shaped as a cyclone separator or a cyclone separator is arranged between the nozzle and the tube handle. The cyclone separator is provided with a whirl chamber (37) which is defined, in part, by an up-side-down truncated cone (41). The whirl chamber has an inlet opening (38), a first outlet opening and a second outlet opening. The inlet opening is placed at the upper part of the whirl chamber (37). Partially cleaned air flows through the first outlet opening (39) which communicates with the vacuum source. The second outlet opening (42) is placed at the lower part of the whirl chamber. The second outlet opening communicates with a dust collecting container (43).

Separation device for a vacuum cleaner

An accessory for a vacuum cleaner having a vacuum source (21) and an inlet tube (18) or the like entering into a chamber (15), the inlet tube communicating with a nozzle opening (11) and being normally connected to a dust container (16), the chamber having an opening which is normally covered by a lid (17). The accessory is a separate unit which is removable secured to the vacuum cleaner and includes a cyclone separator. The accessory has an inlet side (32) that can be connected to the inlet tube (18). The accessory has a liner (25) to which a container part (27) is removably secured. The container part includes a first container (45) in which particles separated by the cyclone are collected and a second container (46) operable to collect particles separated by a coarse separator.

Removable cyclone separator for a vacuum cleaner

A self-guiding vacuum cleaner having a chassis (10) supporting a brush nozzle (50) facing the floor and having a nozzle opening (51) communicating with a chamber (16) in which a dust container (17) is arranged, the chamber being connected to the inlet side of a fan unit (33). The vacuum cleaner has a drive system for driving the vacuum cleaner on the floor, the drive system including at least two drive wheels (35) which are also arranged to guide the vacuum cleaner on the floor by relative motion of the wheels. The chassis (10) and the nozzle (50) are provided with cooperating means (48, 49) by means of which the nozzle (50) is such supported in the chassis for vertical movement.

Nozzle arrangement for a self-guiding vacuum cleaner

An adaptor for a vacuum cleaner having a vacuum source (21) and an inlet tube (18) communicating with a nozzle opening (11) and ending in a chamber (15) which has an opening closed by a cover (17). A dust container (16) is normally placed in the chamber and is connected to the inlet tube. The adaptor is a separate unit (26) which, when the dust container (16) and cover (17) have been removed, can be fixed to the vacuum cleaner. The adaptor includes a cyclone separator (32) having an inlet side which is connected to the inlet tube (18) and an outlet side communicating with the inlet side of the vacuum source (21).

A slip ring device for a cable reel (10) or the like having a cable drum (11) rotating on a stationary shaft (14). The drum is provided with at least one contact (22) to which a cable (12) of the cable reel (10) is connected. The slip ring (31, 32) arranged on the shaft (14) and against which the contact rests includes a thread or strip-shaped element (28, 29) of electrically conductive material which is wound about the shaft.

A vacuum cleaner having a hose (13) which is connected to a vacuum cleaner housing, the outer end of the hose having a tube handle (12). The tube handle is connected to a nozzle (10) by a tube shaft (11). The tube shaft (11) is movable relative to the tube handle (12), and can be releasably locked in different positions. A device is conveniently provided to allow the operator to adjust the relative length of the tube shaft by moving the tube shaft relative to the tube handle.

Telescopic tube connection for a vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner nozzle having a first nozzle part (11) which has brush elements (23) or the like facing the floor and a second nozzle part (25) which is movably arranged with respect to the first part (11) and which has at least one suction opening (27) through which air flows to an outlet tube (13) connected to the nozzle. The second nozzle part (25) is supported by the first nozzle part (11) by means of a resilient element (31). The resilient element maintains the second part (25) above the floor when the nozzle is moved on a hard surface and allows the second part (25) to move toward the floor when the nozzle is moved on a soft surface, such as a soft carpet.

A portable suction cleaner comprises a housing (10) with a filter bag (11) and a suction fan (12) driven by a motor (13). The suction cleaner is characterized in that the housing (10) is provided with a carrier belt (19) adapted to be applied around the bearer's waist or hips.

Suction cleaner

In a suction cleaner comprising a housing (10) having an inlet (11), a filter chamber (12) with a filter bag (13), a suction fan (14) with a motor (15), and an outlet passage (17) through which filtered air passes from the suction fan to an outet (16), the motor is provided with a control circuit (20) adapted to be activated by a first pressure switch (21) which is actuated by the underpressure in the filter chamber (12) in order to control the motor power at a predetermined level. According to the invention, the suction cleaner is provided with a second pressure switch (22) which is actuated by the pressure in the outlet (17) and adapted to activate the control circuit (20) when said pressure exceeds a predetermined level.

In a suction cleaner comprising a housing (10) with a disposable filter bag (13) a movable tube piece (17) is provided which is adapted to enter the inlet opening (14a) of the filter bag. According to the invention, the tube piece (17) is provided with a control means actuatable by a pressure difference, preferably the difference between atmospheric pressure and the underpressure in the suction cleaner housing.

Arrangement in a suction cleaner

Arrangement for winding of an electric cable which arrangement comprises a rotatable drum from which the cable is arranged to be wound off manually, and an electric motor (M) arranged to be connected to a first circuit for driving the drum in the winding direction and arranged to be rotated by the drum during unwinding of the cable. A second circuit (M,1,3,4) comprises besides the motor (M) also a contact means (1) arranged to be closed when the motor (M) is inoperative. During unwinding of the cable from the drum the motor generates a braking moment which increases with the speed of rotation of the motor. The second circuit preferably comprises a voltage dependent switch (3), preferably a Zener-diode, which is arranged to be closed when the voltage generated by the motor (M) during the unwinding exceeds a value corresponding to a predetermined speed of rotation of the drum and, as a consequence, of the motor.
