A device () for separating sulphur dioxide from a gas has an inlet () for the gas () and an outlet () for gas (), from which sulphur dioxide has been separated. An apertured plate () is arranged between the inlet () and the outlet () and allows the gas () to pass from below. On its upper side (), the apertured plate supports a flowing layer () of absorption liquid. An inlet duct () connects a container () for absorption liquid to the upper side () of the apertured plate (). A means () conveys the absorption liquid () from the container (), through the inlet duct (), to the upper side () of the apertured plate () and along the apertured plate (). The device also has an outlet box () for collecting the absorption liquid () flowing over the apertured plate () and at least one distribution means (), which is arranged to contact the gas () which is supplied to the device () through the inlet () with the liquid () flowing from the outlet box () to the container () before the gas () passes through the apertured plate ().

Method and a device for the separation of sulphur dioxide from a gas

The present invention provides a process and a device for transport of gas in a main duct with more than two branch ducts wherein the gas is guided through the branch ducts () and into the main duct (A) with a direction which is parallel to the direction of the flow in the main duct, while the gas in the branch duct at the inlet to the main duct is kept at a higher velocity than the gas in the main duct and the gas in the main duct is given an impulse, by utilisation of excess energy from the gas in the branch duct, for acceleration of the gas prior to introduction into the main duct.

Process and a device for transport of gas

A method for mixing a pulverulent material in a main gas flow with a view to achieving uniform distribution of the pulverulent material. The turbulence in the main gas flow is increased in a vortex-generating zone. The pulverulent material is introduced into the main gas flow, in a mixing zone, with a carrier gas flow whose net motion during introduction is essentially opposite to the main gas flow. The mixing zone is positioned downstream of the vortex-generating zone and in the vicinity thereof. The carrier gas flow with the pulverulent material is in a rotational zone given a helical motion, whose axis of symmetry is essentially parallel with the direction of flow of the main gas flow, and is introduced into the mixing zone in the form of a divergent hollow cone. A device for carrying out the method comprises a gas duct ( ) for the main gas flow with vortex-generating means ( ) and an introducing means ( ) for introduction of pulverulent material in dispersed state into a carrier gas flow. The introducing means ( ) comprises a cylindrical pipe ( ) with an open and a closed end, a tangential inlet ( ) in the vicinity of the closed end of the cylindrical pipe ( ), and a divergent axial outlet ( ) at the open end of the cylindrical pipe comprising a truncated conical jacket ( ) and a centered insert ( ) adjacent to the axial outlet so adapted that an annular opening ( ) forms between the truncated conical jacket ( ) and the insert ( ).

Method and device for mixing a flowing gas and a pulverulent material

Apparatus is disclosed for separating particles disposed in a carrier gas being delivered from a distributor to a moving web including a roller, a supply conduit for supplying the particles dispersed in the carrier gas substantially tangentially to the roller at a first speed, the roller rotating at a second speed which is substantially greater than the first speed whereby the particles are separated from the carrier gas, the roller including a discharge opening for discharging the particles toward the moving web and a return line for recycling the carrier gas. A method for separating particles dispersed in a carrier gas is also disclosed.
