The present invention relates to a polyolefin composition comprising: a) an olefin homo- or copolymer (A), and b) activated carbon (B) as a taste and/or odor reducing agent, to the use of such a polyolefin composition, and to a pipe material and pipe having reduced taste and/or odor development comprising the above polyolefin composition.

The present invention relates to a polyethylene composition comprising a base resin which comprises (a) an ethylene homo- or copolymer fraction (A); and (b) an ethylene homo- or copolymer fraction (B), wherein (i) fraction (A) has a lower average molecular weight than fraction (B); (ii) the base resin has a density of 940 to 947 kg/m; (iii) the polyethylene composition has an MFRof 0.1 to 0.5 g/10 min; and (iv) the polyethylene composition has an SHIof 10 to 49. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an article, preferably a pipe comprising said composition and to the use of said composition for the production of an article, preferably a pipe.

Polyethylene composition for pressure pipes with enhanced flexibility

The present invention relates to a polyethylene composition comprising a base resin which comprises (a) an ethylene homo- or copolymer fraction (A); and (b) an ethylene homo- or copolymer fraction (B), wherein (i) fraction (A) has a lower weight average molecular weight than fraction (B); (ii) the base resin has a density of 932 to 938 kg/m; (iii) the polyethylene composition has an MFRof 0.1 to 0.6 g/10 min; and (iv) the polyethylene composition has a shear stress &#x3b7;2.7 kPa of 85 to 230 kPas. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an article, preferably a pipe comprising said composition and to the use of said composition for the production of an article, preferably a pipe.

The present invention in a first embodiment relates to a conduit or automotive wire consisting of an inner conductor core surrounded by a flame retardant layer made of a polymer composition in a continuous process which composition comprises (A) an olefin homo- and/or copolymer, (B) a silicone-group containing compound, and (C) an inorganic filler, wherein the ratio of the MFR2 measured under a load of 2.16 kg and at a temperature of 190&#xb0; C. of component (A) to the MFR2 measured under a load of 2.16 kg and at a temperature of 190&#xb0; C. of the composition is higher than 3.5, and the wire has a length of at least 100 m. In a second embodiment, the present invention relates to a power or communications cable or wire comprising a flame retardant layer made of a polymer composition comprising (A) an olefin homo- and/or copolymer, (B) a silicone-group containing compound, and (C) an inorganic filler, wherein the ratio of the MFR2 measured under a load of 2.16 kg and at a temperature of 190&#xb0; C. of component (A) to the MFR2 measured under a load of 2.16 kg and at a temperature of 190&#xb0; C. of the composition is higher than 3.5, the cable or wire further comprising at least one further layer.
