A breaking device for interrupting current includes an electrically conducting outer member, an electrically conducting inner member arranged radially inside the outer member with respect to a breaking axis and an electrically insulating or semiconducting breaking member arranged radially between the outer member and the inner member with respect to the breaking axis, where the breaking member is arranged to move along the breaking axis from a starting position to a protruding position in which the breaking member protrudes from a space within the outer member for interrupting a current between the outer member and the inner member and the breaking member includes a first tubular including a first insulating material and a second insulating material, where the first insulating material has a higher wear resistance than the second insulating material.

The present invention relates to a method and a monitoring system, for monitoring a vacuum on-load tap changer. The tap changer includes a housing with insulating fluid, a diverter switch inside of the housing and including at least one movable contact and at least two vacuum interrupters, and at least one pressure sensor which measures the pressure in the housing. The method, which is performed by a processing circuitry in the system, includes determining a pressure signature, including two succeeding peaks within a time interval, continuously measuring the pressure, detecting when the measured pressure shows the pressure signature, determining, based on the measured pressure within the pressure signature, the time between the first rise in pressure and the second drop, and setting the determined time to represent the switch time of the diverter switch.

The present invention relates to a method for controlling a motor-driven vacuum circuit breaker. The method comprises initiate opening (S) the circuit breaker, wherein the circuit breaker moves with an average opening speed of a contact pair of the circuit breaker, from a closed position to an open position of the circuit breaker, and decelerating (S) the opening speed of the contact pair to below the average opening speed before the open position is reached to avoid overshoot, and initiate closing (S) the circuit breaker, wherein the circuit breaker moves with an average closing speed of the contact pair, from the open position to the closed position, and decelerating (S) the closing speed of the contact pair to below the average closing speed before contact touch at the closed position, wherein the circuit breaker moves with the decelerated speed at contact touch. An AC power transformer includes primary and secondary windings for at least a first AC phase and a second AC phase, and a core for said at least first and second phases. The transformer further includes a control unit for transferring power from the first phase to the second phase via magnetic coupling in the core such that the sum of the phase vectors of all of the at least first and second phases is substantially zero.

An exemplary medium or high voltage switch has a first set of contact elements and a second set of contact elements. Each contact element includes an insulating carrier carrying conducting elements. In the closed state of the switch, the conducting elements align to form one or more current paths between terminals of the switch along an axial direction. For opening the switch, the contact elements are mutually displaced by means of one or two drives along a direction perpendicular to the axial direction. The switching arrangement is arranged in a fluid-tight housing in a gas of elevated pressure or in a liquid. The switch has a high voltage withstand capability and fast switching times.

A roll arrangement for determining a web tension profile of a web. The roll arrangement includes a roll having a peripheral surface for guiding the web, which peripheral surface is provided with a plurality of openings, and a plurality of sensor arrangements. Each of the plurality of openings are arranged to receive one sensor arrangement of the plurality of sensor arrangements to thereby sense forces applied by the web to the roll. A medium or high voltage switch has a switching assembly actuated by two drives. Each drive includes a plunger arranged between two Thomson coils. The coils as well as the plunger are rectangular for reducing the weight and therefore inertia of the drive and thus to increase drive speed.

The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling a roll gap when rolling a strip () in a rolling mill including at least two rolls (--), and at least two roll gap actuators () that independently control the size of the roll gap. The device is adapted to receive information on the amount of wedge shape (POSact,POSact) in the strip thickness profile across the strip width, and to control said actuators, based on said information on the amount of wedge shape in the strip thickness profile, such that the relative reduction of the strip on both sides of the rolling mill become essentially the same.

A retrofit diverter switch which has a mechanical and electrical interface that is compatible with the existing designs is provided. The diverter switch may include a vacuum switch. The feature where the mechanical and electrical interface is compatible enables a retrofit from traditional On Load Tap Changers to a vacuum based on Load Tap Changers. The diverter switch may be retrofitted into existing tap changer housings. Retrofitting from traditional to vacuum based, traditional to vacuum based and up rating, and vacuum up rating may be possible. The motion member includes an engagement mechanism for transforming the linear motion into a unidirected rotary motion of the intermediate shaft via drive members.
