An infeed alignment device () for aligning a carton blank () such that a picking device can pick the carton blank. The infeed alignment device comprises an upper alignment member () for pushing on an upper part of the carton blank, a lower alignment member () for pushing on a lower part of the carton blank, and wherein the upper and/or lower alignment member is configured to push in a push direction on the top and/or the bottom of the carton blank such that the carton blank is in a picking position for the picking device.

Device and method for aligning a carton blank

The invention relates to a pressure unit () for sealing a package () for a food product, comprising a conveyor () for transporting the package () through the pressure unit () in a travelling direction (d), a first rotatable pressure roller () and a first rotatable anvil roller (). The first pressure roller () is arranged opposite to the first anvil roller () to form a first nip () for receiving and rotationally engage with a portion () of the package, and arranged downstream of the first pressure roller () and the first anvil roller () in the travelling direction, a second rotatable pressure roller () and a second rotatable anvil roller (). The second pressure roller () is arranged opposite to the second anvil roller () to form a second nip () for receiving and rotationally engage with the portion () of the package. The first anvil roller () and the second anvil roller (), respectively, has a smooth rim surface (). The first pressure roller () comprises a first bulge () extending annularly around its rim surface (), the second pressure roller () comprises a second bulge () extending annularly around its rim surface (), and the first bulge () is offset in relation to the second bulge () in an axial direction () of said first pressure roller () and the second pressure roller ().

Pressure unit

The disclosure relates to a method of providing a liquid package (2) with an opening arrangement (1) and to the opening arrangement (1) proper. A hole (3) is punched out in the material (15) of a package (2) of the type which is produced from a material web (15) or a material sheet, the hole being covered by a thin strip (4). Thereafter, the package (2) is filled and formed into its final shape. A plastic device (6)is secured on the finished package (2) so that it surrounds the strip (4) without covering it. The plastic device (6) consists of a pouring element (7) with an angled front edge (10) and a sealing element (8) with a locking angle (13). A hole is provided in the pouring element (7) wherein the strip (4) is visible in its entirety. Before distribution of the package (2)the sealing element (8)is moved over the pouring element (7) so that these enter into engagement with one another and the locking angle (13) is locked against the front edge (10) of the pouring element (7).

Opening arrangement and a method of producing same

The disclosure relates to a method of providing a liquid package (2) with an opening arrangement (1) and to the opening arrangement (1) proper. A hole (3) is punched out in the material (15) of a package (2) of the type which is produced from a material web (15) or a material sheet, the hole being covered by a thin strip (4). Thereafter, the package (2) is filled and formed into its final shape. A plastic device (6) is secured on the finished package (2) so that it surrounds the strip (4) without covering it. The plastic device (6) consists of a pouring element (7) with an angled front edge (10) and a sealing element (8) with a locking angle (13). A hole is provided in the pouring element (7) wherein the strip (4) is visible in its entirety. Before distribution of the package (2) the sealing element (8) is moved over the pouring element (7) so that these enter into engagement with one another and the locking angle (13) is locked against the front edge (10) of the pouring element (7).

Opening arrangement

A method for manufacturing a laminated strip having a gas barrier material laminated in a liquid-tight manner between two external films includes the steps of forming surface irregularities in a first film, laminating a web gas barrier material to the first film, transversely cutting the gas barrier material and applying a second film over the gas barrier material. The apparatus for manufacturing the laminated strip includes a pair of cooperating rolls between which the first film is fed for forming irregularities in the first film. Two other cooperating rolls are provided for cutting the gas barrier member after it has been laminated to the first film. Two additional cooperating rolls are also provided for laminating the second film to the gas barrier material and the first film.

Method for the manufacture of a laminated material strip

Packing machines which manufacture packing containers of the so-called gable-top type from flexible packing laminate frequently handle prefabricated, tubular packing container blanks which are provided with a bottom section by folding in and sealing of a number of bottom wall panels. The bottom is pressed down and sealed while the blank is supported by a mandrel on a mandrel wheel. In order to avoid the transmission of the pressing and sealing forces to, and stressing of, the axle and bearing of the mandrel wheel, an arrangement is proposed which is designed so that the compressive forces generated by the pressure devices are absorbed by a tie rod which connects the pressure application arrangement with the axle of the mandrel wheel, so that the forces are absorbed internally without stressing the mandrel wheel axle or other surrounding elements.

The invention describes an apparatus for the sterile packaging of flowable substances, comprising a conveyer belt (4), from one end of which open packages (5) can be passed by an intermediate conveyer means (21-23) through a sterilizing chamber (7) and to a second conveyer belt (13) disposed in a sterile chamber (15) enclosed in a housing (14), filling means (17) and sealing means (18) being disposed in this sterile chamber (15) while an outlet sluice (24) is disposed in a wall of the housing. In order to simplify and so further improve such an apparatus that a more effective sterilization process is achieved, it is according to the invention envisaged to construct the sterilizing chamber (15) as an inlet sluice (8).

Apparatus for the sterile packaging of contents

An opening arrangement for packing containers comprising a prepunched opening which is covered by a tear-off cover strip and a pouring rim element positioned between a wall of the packing container and the cover strip. In one of the embodiments, the pouring rim strip has an edge portion which projected partially over the opening of the packing container and a liquid-tight layer is joined to both an inside surface of the packing container wall and the edge portion of the pouring rim strip, as well as to a portion of the cover strip positioned over the opening. The application of the pouring rim as well as the manufacture of the opening arrangement as a whole are facilitated by joining in advance the pouring rim in a detachable manner to the cover strip, so the cover strip and the pouring rim can be applied as a unit.

Opening arrangement on packing containers

An arrangement on packing containers of flexible packing material, this arrangement making possible a tight closing and simple opening of the top part of the packing container. In, for example, a gable-top package (1) the arrangement comprises a sealing film (8) projecting outside the top edge of the packing container material, which after conventional shaping of the top part of the packing container is sealed in a sealing zone (9) and is provided with a projecting tearing strip (11). The film (8) is a laminate sealable to the packing material with a suitable barrier layer, e.g. Al-foil, and, owing to its small thickness, can be simply sealed in a gas-tight manner to itself as well as to the inside of the packing material.

Arrangement on packing containers

An arrangement for the raising and transferring flattened tubular packing container blanks (2) from a magazine (3) to a conveyor arrangement comprises suction elements (18a and 18b) arranged on arms (15) movable in a curved path away from each other. The placing of the elements is such that the suction elements in a certain position (receiving position) of the arms are directed towards each other so as to allow engagement with, and attachment to, two opposite sides of a flat blank.

Arrangement for the raising of packing container blanks

An arrangement for the retaining of container blanks (1) in a predetermined correct position on mandrels on a packing machine of the type which manufactures filled and closed packing containers from tubular container blanks and which comprises a stepwise rotatable mandrel wheel which is the bearer of mandrels distributed around the mandrel wheel which are intended to move container blanks applied to the mandrels in correct position between successive processing stations so as to achieve a bottom closure of the blanks. The arrangement comprises clamping elements pressed against the mandrels in the form, for example, of a lever which is adapted to be pivotable in a bracket at one lateral surface of the mandrel. The mandrel includes an upper clamping arm pressed against the mandrel and a lower maneuvering arm rigidly connected with the clamping arm as well as a spring element arranged at the top of the clamping arm (14). The clamping element (14) and the spring element can be disengaged from the mandrel through the effect of stops located at one or more of the stations which are adapted to act upon the maneuvering arm so that the latter through a forced pivoting movement adjusts the clamping arm (16) and the spring element (16) into a position wholly or partly disengaged from the mandrel.

An opening arrangement on packing containers is provided with thermoplastic layers, which in general are present on both sides of packing laminate and extend past a cut edge and are sealed in a liquid-tight manner to each other. This can be achieved simplest if the hole-punching of the carrier layer of the material is done prior to the application of the thermoplastic layers.

In the intermittent forward feeding of a material web provided with transverse crease lines and simultaneous punching of holes into the material web in a definite relation to the crease line pattern, it is important to ensure that any faults in the length of the forward feed, do not accumulate during working over longer periods. Such faults, which occur due to unavoidable inaccuracies would lead successively to ever increasing faultiness in the placing of the holes. A method and an arrangement adapted to avoid the accumulation of such faults are provided. In the method the material web during each forward feeding is advanced a distance which exceeds the correct distance between two transverse lines by the fault margin. Subsequently, before the next forward feeding, the web is restored to a correct position, not affected by any faults in the distance between the crease lines. An arrangement for the carrying out of the method has, beside a driving element in the form of a driven roller situated in contact with the material web, also a register-holding element. The register holding element includes drivers, which engage with the transverse crease lines, and which after each forward feeding, with simultaneous disengagement of the driving element, restores the web a certain distance so as to place the crease lines into the correct position.

A rotary driver feeds a web containing transverse crease lines. The driver contains circumferentially spaced edges which drivingly engage the crease lines. When the crease lines are spaced farther apart than the edges, that part of the web disposed between those edges is deflected inwardly, as by a vacuum, to bring the crease lines into engagement with the edges.

Method and an arrangement for the feed of a material web

Packing containers of the non-returnable type for the packaging of milk, etc, frequently have a fold-out pouring spout which is intended to facilitate the pouring out of the milk in a concentrated jet. However, the air which must enter the package via the pouring spout at the same time as the pouring out takes place causes the flow to stop periodically so that the pouring out occurs jerkily. This disadvantage is overcome in accordance with the invention in that the spout is designed to have an emptying duct as well as an air duct. The air duct extends into the packing container over such a length that air can pass unhindered into the packing container without disturbing the flow of the contents through the pouring spout.
