A torque measuring system is provided in a vehicle transmission including a clutch assembly having a two part, rotatable torque transmitting member, the two pans of the member being angularly movable relative to one another against the compression of at least one damper spring pack, and an actuator with a non rotatable cylinder for controlling the clutch. A device for radiating and receiving wave energy is arranged to irradiate the damper spring pack in order to receive a reflected modulation signal proportional to the current resonance frequency of the damper spring pack, and where the modulation signal is arranged to be converted to a torque value by a signal processing device, which torque value corresponds to the actual torque over the clutch.

Torque measuring system and a method thereof

A method is provided for verifying an engine torque estimation and includes estimating the engine torque based on the amount of fuel injected into the engine, where the engine torque is obtained from a fuel injection table, estimating a first vehicle weight value by a calculation based on acceleration of the vehicle and the estimated engine torque, estimating an auxiliary brake torque by using an auxiliary brake table, estimating a second vehicle weight value by a calculation based on the estimated auxiliary brake torque, and comparing the first vehicle weight value with the second vehicle weight value. The method facilitates detecting if an actual engine torque value deviates from the original engine torque value of a vehicle without measuring the engine torque with a separate torque sensor.

Torque calibration method

A vehicle includes a front axle and rear axle, where at least one of said axles is driven, an engine arranged in the vicinity of the rear or front end of said vehicle, the engine including an output shaft connected to the driven axle via a transmission system for transmitting driving power from the engine to the driven axle. The transmission system includes at least a multiple-speed gearbox for causing variable gear ratio between the engine and driven axle. The engine and at least a part of the gearbox are arranged on each side of the driven axle, and are connected only via a power transmitting device so that an engine block of the engine is separated from a gearbox housing of the gearbox.
