The invention relates to an apparatus for carrying out an extracorporeal blood treatment in which a substitution fluid is administered to the patient, wherein the apparatus comprises an extracorporeal blood circuit and a substitution line opening into the extracorporeal blood circuit, wherein the substitution line has at least one heating container, and wherein a pump is arranged in the substitution line downstream of the heating container or containers for the conveying of substitution fluid into the extracorporeal blood circuit.

The invention relates to an apparatus for carrying out an extracorporeal blood treatment in which a substitution fluid is administered to the patient, wherein the apparatus comprises an extracorporeal blood circuit and a substitution line opening into the extracorporeal blood circuit, wherein the substitution line has a pump for conveying substitution fluid into the extracorporeal circuit, wherein at least two, and preferably more than two, containers for the provision of a substitution fluid are connected separately and at the intake side of the pump to the substitution line, and wherein at least one pressure valve is arranged between the pump and at least one of the containers, said pressure valve allowing a flow of substitution fluid to the pump on an exceeding of an opening pressure.

Apparatus for carrying out an extracorporeal blood treatment and method for adding a substitution fluid

A method and device for controlling an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, which can be operated as a hemodialysis apparatus, hemofiltration apparatus or hemodiafiltration apparatus, are disclosed. The method and device make provision, apart from balancing the fluids as a function of the weights of the containers, for the measurement of the weight reduction or increase of at least one of the containers in the time interval in which the pump assigned to the respective container performs a preset number of revolutions or pump strokes. The change in the weight of the container for a half or one pump revolution can be determined. The delivery rate of the respective pump is ascertained from the measured weight reduction or increase in the specific time interval, thereby permitting the precise determination of the actual delivery rate of one or more pumps. The actual delivery rates of all the pumps are preferably monitored.
