A handheld work apparatus includes a work tool. The work apparatus defines a longitudinal plane and includes a handle having a longitudinal axis. The blocking lever is mounted so as to be pivotable about a rotational axis. The blocking lever blocks the actuating lever in a blocking or disable position and enables the actuating lever for actuation in at least one operating enable position. In the direction of view perpendicular to the longitudinal plane, the longitudinal axis of the handle and the rotational axis of the blocking lever conjointly define an angle (α). The angle (α) lies in a range of from 10° to 60°.

The invention is directed to a handheld work apparatus having a work tool. The work apparatus defines a longitudinal plane and includes a handle having a longitudinal axis. The disclosure relates to a chain saw having a housing and a drive motor. The guide bar is held on the housing by way of a releasable fastening arrangement and, when the fastening arrangement is released, by way of a tensioning device is displaceable in relation to the housing in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the guide bar. The chain saw includes a chain lifting device which is configured separately from the tensioning device. The chain lifting device in a deflected position of the chain lifting device is configured for deflecting the saw chain when the tensioning device tensions the saw chain, and in an operating position of the chain lifting device is configured for relaxing the saw chain when the guide bar is fixed.

The disclosure relates to a handheld work apparatus, wherein the work apparatus includes a housing, a drive motor for driving a tool, and a handle disposed on the housing. A contour is provided on the handle and a counter contour is provided on the housing. In the inoperative position of the handle, a minimum friction torque (M) which acts about the pivot axis is provided between the handle and the housing. In the operative position of the handle, the contour and the counter contour are operatively connected in such a manner that a further friction torque (M) which acts about the pivot axis is present between the handle and the housing. The further friction torque (M) in the operative position is greater than the minimum friction torque (M) in the inoperative position.
