A scale inhibitor includes an amount of hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid (HEDP), and an amount of hydroxyapatite. The amounts are combined to form a composition that is long lasting, high activity and completely dissolvable. The composition has a preferred particle size of less than 200 nm. Dicalcium phosphate, tricalcium phosphate, bone and/or bone ash may be used in place of hydroxyapatite.

Solid scale inhibitor

A solid scale inhibitor for use in fracking operations to inhibit scale build up, includes a powdered composition having a salt component and an acid component; the powdered composition is 100% dissolvable; and the acid component increases the dissolution rate associated with the salt component, thereby preventing the salt component from contributing to scaling formation in one or more production lines within a fracking operation. While both the salt and the acid in the present invention inhibit scale formation on their own, the acid (HEDP in the preferred embodiment) dissolves quickly, while the salt (HA in the preferred embodiment) dissolves very slowly; by combining the two, the dissolution rate of the acid is slowed and the dissolution rate of the salt is increased. Thus providing for an effective long term solid scale inhibitor.

Solid scale inhibitor and method of manufacture

A corrosion control system is disclosed including an anionic oxygen inhibitor, a cationic acid inhibitor or dispersant, and a noxious species inhibitor or scavenger for use in a fluid in contact with a metallic surface at low temperature, moderate temperature and especially at high temperature. A drilling fluid, a completion fluid, a production fluid and a geothermal fluid including an effective amount of the corrosion control system is also disclosed as well as methods for making and using same.

A new general purpose foaming agent having application as drilling fluid foaming agents or as any foaming agent needed an a wide variety of applications is disclosed, where the agent includes at least one anionic surfactant, at least one cationic surfactant, and mixtures thereof and one or more zwitterionic compounds. A method for using the foaming agent in capillary coiled tubing application is also disclosed. The foaming agents can also include additive to augment the properties of the foaming agent for a given application.

Foamer composition and methods for making and using same

A crosslinking composition for hydrocarbon gels containing phosphate ester gelling agents comprising a modified imidazoline or pyrimidine including an alkyl group (or unsaturated carbon chain) or of 10 to 22 carbon atoms, a polyamine, and ferric sulfate. The method of making the crosslinking agent features adding the polyamine after reaction of the other ingredients; unique gels formed with the crosslinking agent are particularly effective for LNG at very cold temperatures.

Crosslinking composition for hydrocarbon gels

A composition useful for crosslinking phosphate esters in hydrocarbon gels used in formation fracturing performs especially well in cold temperatures, such as temperatures lower than (&#x2212;)20&#xb0; C. Methods of making the crosslinking composition and the gel are described; also methods of fracturing subterranean formations. Specific forms of ferric sulfate and ferric ammonium citrate are useful as ingredients of the crosslinking composition.

Low temperature hydrocarbon gel II

A new multi-purpose foaming composition having applications in oil field application, industrial applications, waste management applications, or other applications that can be benefited by a foam, is disclosed, where the composition includes a surfactant, a sulfur scavenger and optionally an additive, where the sulfur scavenger and/or additive improve foam characteristics and/or the foam improves an activity of the sulfur scavenger and/or the additives. Method for using and making the foaming compositions are also disclosed, especially, coiled and capillary coiled tubing downhole applications.

Foamer/sulfur scavenger composition and methods for making and using same

Where the loss of volatile organics during storage of high gravity oil is minimized by forming a flowable or pumpable gel in the high gravity oil, (and/or condensates and distillates), as they are introduced to a storage vessel, the gel is broken by the addition of a small amount of an amine/formaldehyde reaction product, which may be either a triazine or a mixture of non-triazine reaction products. The previously gelled hydrocarbon may then by more readily moved by draining or pumping into a pipeline.

An new class of oil-soluble, sulfur scavengers or converts are disclosed where the scavengers include substantially monomeric aldehyde-amine adducts from the reaction of at least one sterically hindered primary or secondary amine and a molar excess of at least one aldehyde. Methods are also disclosed for reducing, reducing below a given level or eliminating noxious sulfur species from fluids using the inventive scavengers and for making the inventive scavengers.
