A spinal implant includes a receiver having a first arm connected to a first extension and a second arm connected to a second extension. The arms are connected to the extensions via a break away surface. The arms include a proximal most end surface and the receiver includes an implant receiving surface. The proximal most end surface and the implant receiving surface defining an implant cavity. The break away surface is disposed within the implant cavity. In some embodiments, systems, spinal constructs and methods are disclosed.

Spinal implant system and method

A multiaxial receiver may include a body having a U-shaped cavity configured to receive a longitudinal rod therein and a lower cavity configured to couple to a pedicle screw. The multiaxial receiver may include a first passageway configured to permit a tether to pass therethrough in the vertical direction. In some embodiments, the multiaxial receiver may also include a second passageway configured to permit a tether to pass therethrough in the horizontal direction. An immobilization assembly including a set screw and a wedge may immobilize the tether. The immobilization assembly may be configured to be rotated from an open position in which the tether is permitted to pass through the first passageway to a closed position in which the tether is immobilized within the first passageway or second passageway by pining the tether against a bearing surface of the first passageway.

Multiaxial receivers with tether

A surgical retractor includes a part defining a longitudinal axis. A first radiolucent blade is connected with the part. A second radiolucent blade is connected with the part. The blades are independently translatable relative to the part. At least one of the blades includes spaced apart arms that are connected via a member. The member and the arms are relatively disposed in a configuration to guide at least one surgical instrument in a selected orientation relative to a surgical site. Surgical systems, instruments, constructs, implants and methods are disclosed.

Surgical retractor system and method

A spinal implant includes a body having an inner surface and a connecting wall. The inner surface defines at least one cavity and the connecting wall is disposed about the at least one cavity. The connecting wall defines at least one opening. An agent is disposable with the at least one cavity. Spinal constructs, surgical instruments, systems and methods are disclosed.

A surgical instrument comprises a first arm including a first closed loop engageable with a first spinal implant disposed with a first vertebral surface. A second arm is movable relative to the first arm and includes a second closed loop engageable with a second spinal implant disposed with a second vertebral surface. Surgical systems, constructs, implants and methods are disclosed.

Surgical distractor and method

A spinal-correction system having (i) a receiver including a base and opposing arms extending proximally from the base forming a rod-receiving cavity, (ii) a pair of extender tabs, each extender tab having threaded inner walls for receiving threads of a setscrew, (iii) a pair of tab extenders each being connectable releasably to one of the extender tabs, (iv) a cap instrument connectable releasably to the tab extenders, and (v) a pair of breakoff sections, each connecting one of the extender tabs to one of the receiver arms, and each being readily breakable for separating the extender tab from the receiver arm. The distal base defines a bonescrew cavity to receive a bonescrew head so that the head can move relative to the base. Each receiver arm has threaded inner walls for receiving setscrew threads. The rod-receiving cavity has geometry corresponds to geometry of the setscrew and a spinal-correction rod.

Spinal-correction system having threaded extender tabs and reduction tab extenders

A spinal construct comprises a body defining a first groove. A transverse rod is formed with the body. A first band is disposable in the first groove. A base is connectable with the body and engageable with the first band. The base defines a second groove and a slot. A second band is disposable in the second groove and defines an opening aligned with the slot. A shaft is connectable with the base and engageable with the second band. The shaft is configured to penetrate tissue. The opening is aligned with the slot to facilitate an angular range of movement of the shaft relative to the body. Implants, systems, instruments and methods are disclosed.

Spinal implant system and methods of use

A bone screw extender reattachment system including an elongated reattachment rod having a proximal and a distal end. The distal end of the elongated reattachment rod includes a tip configured to attach to a head of a bone screw. The elongated reattachment rod is configured so that a screw extender assembly having an inner sleeve, an outer housing and an extender head can slide over the reattachment rod. The bone screw extender reattachment system also includes a tension plunger having a plunger-type heed and an elongated shaft configured to slide over the reattachment rod so as to communicate with the screw extender assembly.

Bone screw extender reattachment system and methods

A spinal construct includes a body having a wall disposed between a first cavity and a second cavity. The second cavity being configured for disposal of an existing spinal implant. A rod is disposed with the first cavity and connectable with tissue. The rod is rotatable relative to the body. Systems, surgical instruments, implants and methods are disclosed.

A percutaneous revision implant for percutaneously revising an existing implant located in the spine of a patient may include, for example, extending the existing implant construct to span additional portions of the spine of the patient. The percutaneous revision implant comprises a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The proximal end portion comprises a connector having two opposable walls joined at one end to define a cavity having a first longitudinal axis. The cavity is suitable to receive and engage a rod of the existing implant. The percutaneous revision implant of the invention permits a medical practitioner to extend an existing implant construct without significantly disrupting or removing the existing implant or its component parts. A method of using same is also provided.

Percutaneous rod revision implant

A surgical instrument comprises a first member including an inner surface that defines a cavity and an outer surface configured to space tissue. The first member includes a first locking surface. A second member is configured for disposal within the cavity and extends between a first end configured to penetrate tissue and a second end configured to generate a signal representative of a position of the second member. The second member includes a second locking surface. The members are disposable between a first orientation such that the locking surfaces are engaged to resist relative axial translation of the members and a second orientation such that the locking surfaces are disengaged and the second member is axially translatable relative to the first member. Systems and methods are disclosed.

Surgical implant system and method

A surgical instrument comprises a body. A first member extends between a first end and a second end. A second member extends between a first end connected with the body and a second end. A third member is connected to the first end of the first member and the body to relatively axially translate the second ends. The third member includes a latch and a lock engageable with the latch. The latch is disposable in a locking orientation and a non-locking orientation. Systems and methods of use are disclosed.

An extender comprises an inner member including a wall defining a thread form and at least one extension defining a first axial cavity and a second axial cavity, each cavity including first, second and third portions. An outer member includes an actuator and at least one arm having projections disposable with the portions of the axial cavities. The actuator is rotatable to axially translate the inner member such that the projections are disposable between a first position, a second position and a third position. Methods of use are disclosed.

A surgical instrument comprises a first member including a first body connected to at least one second body. The first body is configured for disposal of an implant support having an outer surface. The at least one second body includes a capture element configured to dispose an implant support having an outer surface with the at least one second body such that the outer surfaces are spaced apart and each of the implant supports are engageable with a first implant. A second member is connected with the first member and is engageable with a second implant. The members are relatively movable to dispose the second implant with the implant supports and to align the second implant with at least one of the first implants. Systems and methods are disclosed.
