An assembly for positioning a piece of photosensitive film into a scanning position on a curved film platen and an internal drum scanner assembly. The film platen is defined by a film feed edge and a film stop edge. An alignment mechanism is positioned proximate the film stop edge and a feed mechanism is positioned proximate the film feed edge. The feed mechanism operates to feed the leading edge of the film from the film feed edge along the film platen towards the film stop edge alignment mechanism, and wherein when the photosensitive film is in the scanning position, the photosensitive film is compressed against the curved film platen in alignment between the alignment mechanism and the feed mechanism. A centering mechanism is also provided.

A tool for expanding elastic tubes which may then be placed around wires or cables. The tool includes three arms terminating in three parallel, elongated tips. Two of the arms are pivotally attached, while the third is retractably coupled to the first two. An elastic tube is positioned over all three tips when they are in close contact. When the handles of the tool are squeezed, all three tips separate, thereby expanding the tube. The tool may be used to apply insulating covers to cable splices, or for marking terminal connections with color-coded tubes.

Tube expanding device

A convertible cap is described that includes a dome-shaped crown having a front portion formed from cloth and a rear portion formed from a soft, flexible open-woven mesh to facilitate air transfer through the cap. A visor is attached to the front of the crown and extends outwardly. A movable divider formed from flexible sheet material is positioned inside the cap and is joined to the inside of the crown along an arcuate transversely extending line of attachment which serves as a fold line. The divider is adapted to be deflected rearwardly to a position conforming to the inside of the mesh during cool or inclement weather or forwardly to allow air to pass through the mesh. A pliant headband at the lower edge of the divider is formed from soft supple material adapted to conform comfortably the contour of the head.

Convertible cap

A mold and method is disclosed for the production of a lens that can be placed in or on the eye. The mold employs an inflexible ridge, preferably having a triangular cross section, on one of the mold parts. The ridge contacts the other mold part along an annular line.
