Wall bases and methods for utilizing the same are provided. A rear surface of the wall base is configured to be secured to an adjacent forward surface of a wall. An extension member extends outward and downward from the base member, and a protrusion extends downward from the extension member. A channel for sealant is defined, at least in part, by the extension member and the protrusion. The protrusion may be separately formed from the extension member and base member.

Cove base with channel for sealant

A wall base for sealing a gap between a wall and a floor is provided. The wall base comprises a base member configured to extend along a portion of the wall. A shoe protrusion extends at an angle from the base member and is configured to extend towards the floor and away from the wall. A heel portion extends from the shoe protrusion and is configured to contact the floor. A channel configured to receive the sealant is defined by the space between the heel portion and the shoe protrusion.

A cove base for sealing a gap between a wall and a floor using a sealant is provided. The cove base comprises a base configured to extend along a portion of the wall when installed. A shoe extends at an angle from the base and is configured to extend towards the floor and away from the wall when installed. A heel extends from the shoe and is configured to contact the floor when installed. A channel configured to receive the sealant is defined by the space between the heel and the shoe.

A flash memory card reader and a single converter chip for reading both serial and parallel flash cards. The read has connectors for both serial and parallel data transfer flash memory cards. The reader has a single chip converter. The converter supports both serial I/O and parallel I/O. The serial I/O transfers data in multiple modes. Both single-bit and multi-bit serial data transfers modes are supported. The reader may have multiple slots, one have a connector for serial and one having a connector for parallel flash memory cards.

Flashcard reader and converter for reading serial and parallel flashcards

A multi-memory media adapter to read a plurality of different types of memory media cards. Signals are mapped to the contact pins depending upon the type of memory media card. In one embodiment, a controller connected to an interconnection means maps at least one signal to the contact pins depending upon the type of memory card inserted.

Smartconnect flash card adapter

A multi-memory media adapter having a plurality of ports, each having at least one set of contact pins adapted to connect to different types of flash cards. Signals are mapped to the contact pins depending upon the type of flash card. In one embodiment, a controller has signal lines connected to an interconnection means which connects wires, cables or traces to the sets of contact pins. Signals are mapped on the signal lines depending upon the type of flash card inserted.

In one embodiment, method that can be performed on a system, is provided to security implementations for storage devices. In one embodiment, the method comprises providing a separate encryption seed for each of a plurality of separate addressable blocks of a non-volatile storage device, wherein a common encryption method is to encrypt data to be stored on the plurality of separate addressable blocks. In one embodiment, the storage device is a portable storage device. In one embodiment, encryption seed is an Initialization Vector (IV). In one embodiment, the encryption seeds comprise at least one of a media serial number and a logical block address corresponding to the respective block of the non-volatile storage device. In an alternative embodiment, the method further comprises storing at least a part of the separate encryption seed of the separate blocks of the non-volatile storage device within the respective blocks of the storage device.

Method and system to provide security implementation for storage devices

A multi-memory media adapter having a port, a surface, and a set of contact pins adapted to connect to different types of flash cards. Signals are mapped to the contact pins depending upon the type of flash card. In one embodiment, a controller has signal lines connected to an interconnection means which connects wires, cables or traces to the sets of contact pins. Signals are mapped on the signal lines depending upon the type of flash card inserted.

A method for recovering data from corrupted flash media and regenerated damaged flash media have been disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises accessing data on a flash media, searching the data for file indicia corresponding at least one predetermined file type, reading the data based on information in the file indicia, the data including a recovered file, and storing the recovered file on a storage medium. Other embodiments have been claimed and described.

Field-operable, stand-alone apparatus for media recovery and regeneration

A plurality of flash (solid state) media coupled to a single form factor connector to provide a module, i.e., referred to as a SmartStack module, that can be coupled directly to a device with a SmartStack module controller. The SmartStack module does not include a controller and is controlled from the host side. The form factor connector would typically be a CompactFlash (CF) form factor or some other form factor used in a variety of devices. The SmartStack memory module in a preferred embodiment includes a write protect switch that prevents certain portions of the memory within the SmartStack module from being written to. In addition, a portion of the flash memory will be allocated to the secure area for storing information to implement various forms of security. Another portion of the flash memory is allocated to store optional biometric information such as a user's fingerprint or retinal scan information, etc. In a preferred embodiment, the SmartStack module is a flash memory card in a CF Type I or II format; however, the card will not be compatible with standard CF readers, but will be compatible with SmartStack readers. Larger memory sizes will be available as larger flash memory chips become available.

Memory module which includes a form factor connector

A multi-memory media adapter comprised of a first planar element having an upper surface and a lower surface, a second planar element having an upper surface and a lower surface, and formed from a single material. The two planar elements form at least one port, each port capable of receiving one or more types of a memory media card. The adapter has at least one set of contact pins protruding from the lower surface of the first planar element or the upper surface of the second planar element such that the at least one set of contact pins are disposed within the port. The at least one set of contact pins are capable of contacting the contacts of a memory media card inserted into the port. For one embodiment a controller chip is embedded within the single material forming the multi-memory media adapter.

SmartConnect universal flash media card adapters

A memory card interface apparatus including a bay to receive a memory card for accessing data stored on the card, and a separate storage cavity configured to store a memory card. In one embodiment, the cavity includes an aperture providing access to remove a card from the storage cavity. In one embodiment, the cavity includes an element protruding out a side of the storage cavity to retain a card within the storage cavity. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes at least a second separate storage cavity configured to store a memory card. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes at least a third separate storage cavity configured to store a memory card. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a tower configuration. In one embodiment, the apparatus is configured to attach to a separate add-on configuration, the separate add-on configuration providing storage for additional memory cards. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes at least a third separate storage area configured to store a memory card.

Flash media reading devices with integrated storage compartments

A single-slot multi-flash-card reader is disclosed. The flash-card reader includes an Integrated Device Electronics (IDE) interface for transferring data to a personal computer; and an IDE converter, coupled to the IDE interface, for converting multiple flash-card interfaces to a format used by the personal computer interface. The multiple flash-card interfaces include a COMPACTFLASH interface and smaller interfaces having fewer pins that the COMPACTFLASH interface. The flash-card reader includes a COMPACTFLASH connector, coupled to the IDE converter, for receiving a COMPACTFLASH card through a single slot in the single-slot multi-flash-card reader, the COMPACTFLASH connector making electrical connection with the COMPACTFLASH card for signals in the COMPACTFLASH interface. The flash-card reader also includes an adapter, having a physical shape to remove or insert into the COMPACTFLASH connector. The adapter has a mating COMPACTFLASH connector that fits the COMPACTFLASH connector. The adapter also has a smaller connector, the smaller connector for fitting to other flash memory cards having the smaller interfaces. The reader includes a wiring means, in the adapter, connected between the smaller connector and the mating COMPACTFLASH connector, for directly connecting signals from the smaller connector in the smaller interface with signals in the mating COMPACTFLASH connector. The adapter allows the other flash memory cards having the smaller interfaces to fit into the COMPACTFLASH connector through the single slot to be read by the IDE converter. A system and method in accordance with the present invention allows an IDE interface to replace the USB interface. This will allow a flash reader to be built that could be put into the front panel of a PC in a manner that is similar to placing a CD-ROM into the front panel.

Flashtoaster for reading several types of flash memory cards with or without a PC

Commercial production transport systems, mechanisms, and guides for food processing are configured so as to automate food transport. The system can direct food to travel serially over side-by-side predetermined travel lanes using one or more of a pick-up mechanism and/or router guide channels to pick-up and/or laterally translate the food product form the first travel lane to the second travel lane so that it travels greater than one, and typically a plurality, of revolutions about a tier or level in a vertically stacked food processing unit before moving to the next tier. Associated methods redirect and/or laterally translate food being transported in an automated food processing system.

Food transport routing systems, devices, and guides for food processing systems and related methods

A flash-memory-card reader reads and writes multiple types of flash-memory cards, including CompactFlash, and the smaller SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, Secure Digital, and Memory Stick. A converter chip converts the different card signals for transfer to a host personal computer (PC). Serial-to-parallel data conversion is performed for the smaller card formats with serial data interfaces, but not for CompactFlash with a parallel-data interface. A signal slot has a 50-pin connector for CompactFlash cards or passive adapters. The passive adapters have the CompactFlash form factor and a smaller connector fitting smaller flash cards. Passive adapters have no components but simply wire the smaller connector to the CompactFlash connector. A pin mapping allows card-type detection by sensing the LSB address pins of the CompactFlash interface. A larger CompactFlash reader has multiple slots for each card type. The reader is connected to the PC by a cable, or located within the PC chassis in a drive bay. A stand-alone reader copies images from the flash-memory card to a removable disk media. Pressing a button initiates image transfer.
