A method of providing directed search for a web site address identified via a media channel and a method for creating a database for such directed search are disclosed. A database is created by providing each information provider a plurality of identifier categories, and allowing each information provider to store on the database at least one identifier per applicable category that is associated with the identification of the web site address. A user may search the database and only retrieves a search response by inputting at least one of the identifiers already stored on the database.

Information storage and retrieval device

A method and apparatus wherein an electrically conductive element is placed inside a previously installed metallic water vessel such as a supply pipe or well. A direct current voltage is then applied between the element and the conductive wall of the vessel. The conductive element can be a partially insulated wire. For causing deposition on the vessel, the voltage applied to the conductive element is of an amount sufficient to cause the potential of the metallic vessel to be lowered below the potential of the element by at least &#x2212;0.3 volts, and more adequately &#x2212;1.3 volts. An alternative embodiment involves reversing the polarity of the voltage applied between the conductive element and the vessel, causing the oxidation/reduction reaction to reverse, resulting in calcium carbonate being removed from the vessel by the production of acid at the surface of the vessel.

A preferred method for creating a directed search database of web sites identified via a media channel comprises providing each of a plurality of information providers access to a secured portion of the database; providing each information provider a plurality of identifier categories; allowing each information provider to store in the secured portion of the database a plurality of identifiers associated with a web site identified via a media channel, wherein each identifier corresponds to an identifier category; and creating a search query with the plurality of identifier categories, wherein a user searches the database by inputting at least one identifier in the search query, and a search result including a web site associated with the input identifier is provided when the search query is executed.

Systems and methods for effectively and economically annihilating non-indigenous marine species and pathogenic bacteria in ship ballast water. A preferred embodiment comprises adding a killing agent to ballast water tanks and subsequently adding a reducing agent to the container. Oxygen is subsequently introduced to the ballast water to eliminate any excess reducing agent, and to ensure compliance with the dissolved oxygen discharge requirements of the receiving water.

Ballast water treatment for exotic species control

Control of lead contamination in residential water supplies is accomplished by cathodic protection of lead-containing piping and lead-containing fixtures. Specifically, a partially insulated wire is inserted into lead-containing service lateral piping. Application of a DC current to the partially insulated wire causes the wire to act as an anode and transforms the walls of the pipe into the cathode, thereby protecting against corrosion. Alternatively, a sacrificial anode is inserted into a lead-containing fixture. The electrical potential generated by corrosion of this sacrificial anode transforms the walls of the fixture into a cathode thereby preventing corrosion. Carbonate scaling built-up prior to the initiation of cathodic protection may be removed by temporarily blocking the water pipe and introducing cleaning chemicals.

Method and apparatus for lead contamination control

A simple, rapid, efficient and inexpensive process for on-site recycling of wastewater with minimal odor wherein the solid wastes generated by the water treatment process are dewatering on-site by solar energy to water content levels below those required for disposal. All operations, including solar dewatering, are accomplished in a compact unit which may be mobile. The solar dewatering unit includes a drying pan over which a solar collector window arrangement is disposed. In the process, wastewater, a water purifying composition and an oxidizing agent are additively mixed together in a first reactor settling tank and the resulting composition is neutralized to a pH of between 7.5-9.4. The added water purifying composition is then allowed to precipitate wherein it binds to and precipitates heavy metals as well as other impurities. The precipitated purifying composition forms a non-hazardous sludge at the bottom of the tank. The resulting supernatant is pumped through a filter to yield recycled wastewater suitable for disposal or reuse. The remaining sludge is pumped to a third tank where it is accumulated and thickened. Once a sufficient amount of sludge is accumulated, the sludge is pumped to a solar dewatering unit where the sludge is dried to a water content level below 50% water which is suitable for landfill disposal.

Water treatment process

A water dispenser includes a housing containing a water source and a water storage tank positioned above the water source. A water line connects the water source and the water storage tank. A vacuum pump draws a vacuum on the water storage tank thereby drawing water through the water line from the water source to the water storage tank. A tap is coupled to the water storage tank and extends outside the housing to dispense water. Optionally, a carbon dioxide injection system may be provided for producing carbonated water. Further, an ultraviolet light source may be positioned adjacent the water line for disinfection.

A section of interlocking elements that engage a complementary surface on eating utensils or toys permits removably securing the eating utensil or toy to the tray surface. Tray dimensions may be customized to fit tables of commercially available children's high chairs. The tray may also include a smooth surface that accommodates eating utensils and toys that do not have interlocking elements.
