The system includes but is not limited to a processor in data communication with a computer readable medium; and a computer program embedded in the computer readable medium, the computer program including but not limited to instructions to send first password data to a first group of end user devices that have exchanged a first advertising key data in a first advertising category; and instructions to send first advertising data encoded using the first password to the first group of end user devices.

A method includes receiving a media stream at a media device and converting, at the media device, the media stream into data packets. The method includes initiating, with the media device, end-to-end connections between the media device and a receiving device via a plurality of cellular network and determining, at the media device, a quality of service factor for each cellular network of the plurality of cellular networks. The method includes selecting, at the media device, a single cellular network of the plurality of cellular networks based on the quality of service factor for each cellular network of the plurality of cellular networks. The method also includes transmitting the data packets from the media device via the single cellular network to the receiving device.

A particular method includes receiving a media stream that includes digital broadcast grade video. The method further includes compressing the media stream to form a compressed digital media stream using a Joint Photographic Experts Group 2000 compliant compression coding system. The method further includes converting the compressed digital media stream into data packets. The method further includes selecting a cellular data network from a plurality of available cellular data networks based on one or more quality of service factors. The method further includes transmitting the data packets via the cellular data network.

System, method and computer program product for updating advertising data for recorded video data

A method is disclosed including but not limited to, receiving a video data stream at a multimedia processor end user device; storing the video data stream at a digital video recorder; monitoring a playback of the stored video data stream at the multimedia processor end user device; detecting an advertising trigger in the playback of the video data stream at the multimedia processor end user device; logging a time for the trigger detected in the video data stream in a trigger log at the multimedia processor end user device; sending the trigger log including data to an advertising server so that the advertising verification system can correlate the time the trigger occurred with an advertising schedule; receiving a replacement advertising data stream from the advertising server based on the advertising trigger; and receiving a replacement advertising data stream during the playback of the video data.

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a server having a controller to monitor spectral characteristics of a target channel, a first channel and a second channel, where the target channel is of a digital terrestrial television system, where the first channel is an upper adjacent channel to the target channel, and where the second channel is a lower adjacent channel to the target channel. The controller is adapted to generate an emission mask based on the monitored spectral characteristics and detect interference between the target channel and at least one of the first and second channels based at least in part on the emission mask. Apparatus and method for managing digital television operations

A method and system for diagnosing synchronization offsets in IPTV program signals includes generating audio counter values for audio packets and video counter values for video packets, such that synchronized audio packets and video packets have corresponding counter values. The correspondence may be fixed or may be a variable relationship during the IPTV program duration. The difference in arrival times of the audio and video packets may be measured at various IPTV network nodes, and compared to the IPTV program clock. Aberrant values for arrival times may result in a network synchronization alarm at an identified IPTV network node.

A method includes receiving digital audio data at an audio adjustment system. The method includes converting a portion of the digital audio data to an analog audio signal with a digital-to-analog converter of the audio adjustment system to form a sample analog audio signal. The method includes determining a dynamic range of the sample analog audio signal with the audio adjustment system. The method also includes modifying a metadata parameter of the digital audio data with the audio adjustment system when the dynamic range of the sample analog audio signal is below a threshold. The metadata parameter is a dialog normalization parameter.

The method also includes outputting second decoded digital audio data including a modified metadata parameter having a second value. The second decoded digital audio data corresponds to the second encoded digital audio data.
