A call processing system for processing calls in a communications network comprising an interface configured to receive a message to register a device with a communications network, wherein the message indicates a device code associated with the device and a processing system configured to process the message to determine a directory code associated with the device based on the device code, process the directory code to determine an override dialing rule based on the directory code, and apply the override dialing rule to calls placed from the device.

A communications system comprising a service processing system configured to receive a privacy request indicating a communication comprising a first user associated with a first communication device and a second user associated with a second communication device, send a query indicating the communication to a privacy system, receive a privacy message indicating whether the second user is private, and send a privacy instruction to the first communication device; the privacy system configured to receive the query, determine a privacy list for the first user, process the query with the privacy list to determine whether the second user is on the privacy list, and send the privacy message to the service processing system indicating that the second user is private; and the first communication device configured to receive the privacy instruction, and update a log, wherein, according to the privacy instruction, the second user is not indicated.

Communication privacy services

In a communication system, a wireless transceiver receives a request message from a caller system for an information service. The information service is associated with an Internet address and an image format. A control system determines a location of the caller system. The control system selects a text message format for the information service based on the location of the caller system. The control system transmits a setup message to the information service indicating the selected text message format. In some examples, the control system receives a text message from the information service responsive to the set-up message, and the wireless transceiver transfers the text message to the caller system.

Location based format selection for information services

A call processing system for handling calls in a communication network operated by a communication carrier comprising and interface and a processing system. The interface is configured to receive a hotline instruction from a customer of the communication carrier to enable a plurality of hotline features for a plurality of devices associated with the customer to route a plurality of calls from the plurality of devices to a plurality of hotline destinations, and receiving a first call request for a first call to a first intended destination from a first device of the plurality of devices. The processing system is configured to process the first call request to determine if a first hotline feature for the first device is enabled, and process the first call request to route the first call to a first hotline destination of the plurality of hotline destinations if the first hotline feature is enabled.

Customer controlled hotline

A method of operating a communication network comprises receiving a call setup request from a calling party in a calling network to a called party in the communication network wherein the call requires an early media service provided by a service network to the called party, forwarding the call setup request to the service network wherein the service network returns a first call setup response in response to the call setup request, and generating a second call setup response and transmitting the second call setup response to the calling network wherein the calling network generates and transmits a call setup instruction to the calling party in response to the second call setup request.

Early media service control

A method is provided for reserving trunks on a trunk group for designated class of service calls. The trunks available for a denominated class of service is specified, and the trunks remaining are enumerated and designated as of no class and available for all calls. When the no class trunks are in use and a new call is a denominated class of service, it is allocated to a trunk and the trunks available is reduced accordingly. If the no class trunks are in use and a new call is not of a denominated class of service, the new call is allocated to a further trunk group. When a call is released and the number available is reduced below a specified number, the number of available trunks increases. If the number of trunks available is not reduced below a specified number, the released trunk is made available for all calls.

A wireless communication network comprises antenna systems, a mobile switching system, and a monitoring system. The antenna systems exchange user communications with mobile user devices in a wireless communication format. The mobile switching system has software to control operations. The mobile switching system routes the user communications between the antenna systems and network communication systems. The mobile switching system implements a software modification to the software. The monitoring system communicates with the mobile switching system to detect the software modification. The monitoring system determines a characteristic for the software modification. The monitoring system selects a set of communication network personnel based on the characteristic and transfers a notice indicating the software modification to the selected set of the communication network personnel.

A call processing system comprising an interface configured to receive a call request for a call from a caller to a service having a plurality of service variations and transmit a first control message, and a processing system configured to process the call request to select a first service variation of the plurality of service variations based on a first preference indicated by the caller prior to the call and generating the first control message identifying the first service variation.

A call processing system in a destination network associated with a destination signaling protocol comprises an interface configured to receive first signaling for a call placed by a user from a device in a source network, wherein the first signaling indicates a source signaling protocol associated with the source network, and a processor configured to determine a status for the call, determine an event by which the status is conveyed to the user based on the status, determine a parameter based on the event and the source signaling protocol, and generate second signaling indicating the parameter.

A wireless communication network comprises antenna systems, a mobile switching system, and a monitoring system. The antenna systems exchange user communications with mobile user devices in a wireless communication format. The mobile switching system has software to control operations. The mobile switching system routes the user communications between the antenna systems and network communication systems. The monitoring system determines that a software lock should be implemented for the mobile switching system, and in response, transfers a software lock instruction to the mobile switching system. The mobile switching system receives the software lock instruction and subsequently receives a request for a software modification. The mobile switching system denies the request for the software modification in response to the software lock instruction.

A call control system for controlling testing in a mobile switching center (MSC) comprises an interface and a processing system. The interface is configured to receive a test call from a test device to a tone card internal to the MSC. The processing system is configured to determine a primary route for routing the test call to the tone card for a first duration, generate first routing instructions indicating the primary route, after the first duration determine a secondary route for routing the test call to the tone card during a second duration, and generate second routing instructions indicating the secondary route.
