A security package for use in retail establishments to lock in articles which are for sale in a clear plastic case which is larger than the article displayed for sale and which optionally has enclosed an electronic article surveillance tag to prevent shoplifting. The security package has a locking mechanism built into the case which can not be opened without a key. The locking mechanism comprises a pair of asymmetric tines which are on opposite sides of an asymmetric engagement member. To lock the security package the asymmetric engagement member spreads apart the asymmetric tines until the asymmetric engagement member gets passed the asymmetric tines. The asymmetric tines close behind the asymmetric engagement member and lock the asymmetric engagement member in place. The asymmetric tines must be separated by an asymmetric key to allow the asymmetric engagement member to pass by the asymmetric tines to unlock the security package. The asymmetric tines and the asymmetric engagement member are shaped to prevent tampering with the locking mechanism and making the security package harder to open without a complimentary asymmetrically shaped key. The security package also has an inside wall and an outside wall on the top portion and a middle wall in the bottom portion for placement between the inside and outside walls when the security package is closed, which prevents sideways motion of the top and bottom portions of the security package to further thwart tampering with the security package.

A package for storing and shipping memory disks is disclosed. The package includes a base and cover designed to enclose and seal a plurality of disks held in a cassette. The base and cover include reinforcing gussets and members for securely retaining the cassette and disks so that the disks do not tilt, rattle or otherwise move during transport.

A wafer cassette for storing, transporting and processing a plurality of wafers has a versatile adapter for removably receiving and attaching a transponder device to any convenient, predetermined surface location on the wafer cassette. The apparatus including the versatile adapter allows the wafer cassette to be used with a wide variety of processing equipment and fixtures without modification or customization, in contrast to similar apparatus known in the art.

Location monitoring of wafer batches

A security package having a locking mechanism capable of securely encompassing an audio cassette, a video cassette, compact disc, or the like within the security package, wherein the security package has an internally disposed pocket for receiving an electronic article surveillance (EAS) tag therewithin. The EAS cavity or pocket is completely sealed and tamper-proof while in the audio-video article is locked within the security package and the locking mechanism does not interfere or intrude within the EAS cavity.

A low profile carrier for holding a plurality of memory disks during processing of the disks is described. The carrier is capable of securely holding disks of different thicknesses and is designed so that the disks are not damaged during insertion or removal of the disks from the carrier.

Disc package for semiconductor wafers

A sealable contamination proof container package bottom and top for storing and transporting a plurality of substrate or wafers in a robotic wafer carrier. The package bottom includes four sides, a continuous vertical surface for tape sealing surrounding the four sides, a lip positioned on a vertical edge, opposing hook latches on opposing sides, opposing hand grip recesses on the opposing sides and a raised bottom surface for package stacking. The package top includes four sides, a continuous vertical surface for tape sealing surrounding the four sides, a lip positioned on the vertical surface, opposing hook catches on the opposing side, a top surface with raised stacking surfaces, and two rows of wafer support springs positioned on bars on the underside of the top surface. The package top and bottom halves provide that the robotic wafer carrier mates between the package top and package bottom with the wafers or substrates in the carrier. The package top and bottom mate with the upper lip engaged with the lower lip, and the catches of the top engage with the latches of the bottom. The package halves are designed in such a fashion as to prevent wafer or substrate damage upon opening, in that the top package half is moved in a direction coinciding to the plane of the wafers or substrates with respect to positioning of the catches and latches on the package side. Appropriate sides of the package top and bottom are plumb with each other providing for a flush perimeter for ease of taping. The raised top portion of the top package half and the recessed bottom of the bottom package half provides for stacking of like packages. In an alternative embodiment, opposing rows of articulated cantilevered horizontal arms with centering V grooves on each end for engaging a wafer, disk or substrate extend inwardly from the edges of an arced top surface in the package top.

Substrate package

A security package for prevention of shoplifting including an elongated handle structure secured to a rectangular encompassing structure for holding an article such as an audio cassette box, video cassette box or a compact disk 'jewel box'. A rotating locking channel with latches for positive locking which engages catch ports in a stationary channel member adjacent to the rectangular encompassing structure to receive an article such as an audio, video or compact disk box. The rotating locking channel is rotated, and the article box in a rectangular encompassing structure area is captured by the rotating of the rotating locking channel with one-way beveled latches to secure the article box within the rectangular encompassing structure. A plurality of one-way locking latch and catch mechanisms are used to accomplish a package lock.

Cassette package

Rigid memory disk package including a package base, a package cover and locks and clips for engaging the package cover to the package case. The low profile of the package base provides for robotic access to the disk. A plurality of dividers in the base support the disks. The top includes a plurality of dividers on each side and two rows of flexible fingers in the top for spring biasing against opposing edges of the disk accordingly when the cover is engaged to the base.

Disk package

Security package including a handle structure secured to a rectangular encompassing structure for encompassing about an audio or visual cassette box or a compact disk jewel box. Retainer bars in the rectangular encompassing structure provide for retaining either an audio cassette or a video cassette box, or a compact disk box within the rectangular encompassing structure. A retainer box including a pin is pushed through a hole in the encompassing structure, and is in frictional secure engagement which provides for retaining of the box within the rectangular encompassing structure. The retaining bar-pin can be removed with common hand tools or, in the alternative, end retainer bars can be cut for separation of the ends of the rectangular encompassing structure for removing the box from the encompassing security package.

Security package

Storage box including a box, a box door, and two locking clips. The storage box is used with standard mechanical interface (SMIF) transfer equipment, and is sealable, dust proof, and stackable. The box door includes cross-bar locators for cross-bar wafer cassettes, and a notch for cover alignment with the SMIF box door. The box door will also accept other types of wafer processing cassettes. Each of the locking clips engage into a clip enclosure outboard of the box, and includes a locking slot for the locking clip, as well as a latch pin opening which provides for movement of the latch pin.
