A kitchen appliance with a safety interlock for processing foodstuff including a housing with a motor and a switch to actuate the motor within the housing. A bowl has a first actuator therein for selectively actuating the switch. A bowl lid is removably mountable over a mouth of the bowl and is mounted to a mouth of the bowl when the bowl and bowl lid are in a working position. A feed tube defines a feed cavity including a feed mouth. The feed tube has a second actuator in an operative relationship with the first actuator. A feed tube lid is pivotably and removably mounted to the feed tube and includes a tab. The tab contacts and moves the second actuator to its operative position to thereby actuate the switch through the first actuator when the feed tube lid is in a closed position.

A food processor for countertop foodstuff preparation comprises a receiving base that encloses an electric motor. The receiving base has a shaft driven by the motor. A pedestal extends generally upwardly from the outer periphery. The pedestal includes an actuator. The motor is operable when the actuator is in an activated position and inoperable when the actuator is in an unactivated position. A bowl is removably mountable on the receiving base. A lid is removably mountable over an open top of the bowl. The lid has an actuator tab that extends from the outer periphery and a positioning tab that extends from the outer periphery. The lid is rotatable for moving the actuator tab into engagement with the actuator to place the actuator in the activated position. The positioning tab extends over at least part of the pedestal to provide a visual indication when the actuator is in the activated position.

A power cord storage module for an electrical device includes at least one fixed member forming a winding surface. A movable member moves relative to the fixed member between a retracted position and an extended position. The movable member includes a skirt. With the movable member in the extended position, the winding surface is accessible to allow the power cord to be manually wrapped upon or unwrapped from the winding surface. With the movable member in the retracted position and the power cord wrapped upon the winding surface, the skirt at least substantially covers the power cord.
