A method including digital printing a heat curable aqueous composition onto a substrate, wherein the composition includes: (a) at least one water soluble synthetic alkali metal silicate; and (b)(i) at least one pigment or (b)(ii) at least one additive selected from aluminum oxide, ceramic microspheres, recycled ground glass, or calcium carbonate; wherein the composition is substantially free of any organic solvent; and heating the composition bearing substrate thereby curing the composition, and wherein the substrate includes a material selected from glass, ceramic, textile, polymeric, metal, wood, or a combination thereof.

Digital ink

Inhibited tin or titanate catalysts are used in condensation cures of silicone materials. Such catalysts are command cure systems with long open pot life, yet have relatively fast cure when the cure mechanism is triggered. This combines the advantages of the inhibited addition cure systems (command cure) with the advantages of the condensation cure systems (lower cost).

Silicone-coated architectural glass

A process of coating a glass substrate with a ceramic-like tough film, as well as the composite product of said process is disclosed. The process comprises forming, by conventional coating methods, a film of an aqueous silicate composition on the surface of a glass substrate. The aqueous silicate composition comprises pigment, aqueous silicate solutions, alkali metal hydroxide, colloidal silica and feldspar. The process is especially useful for rendering architectural grade and automobile glass opaque and decorative.

Ceramic-like opaque glass

A process of coating a glass substrate with an elastomeric film, as well as the composite product of said process is disclosed. The process comprises forming, by conventional coating methods, a film of an aqueous silicone emulsion on a surface of a glass substrate that may have a metallic coating. The aqueous silicone emulsion comprises anionically stabilized hydroxylated polydiorganosiloxane, colloidal silica, pigment, an acrylic thickening agent, and make-up water. The process is especially useful for rendering architectural-grade glass stronger and substantially opaque.
