A springy, low dielectric retainer device in the form of a rod, a triangle, an ellipse or whatever, is used in a compressed condition to hold RF energy absorber blocks in position juxtaposed 'energy leaky' RF circuitry. The absorber blocks are held in position due to frictional forces provided by the compressed retainer. In this manner, the absorber blocks can be re-positioned to obtain optimum amplitude/frequency response characteristics from the affected RF circuit.

A method is shown, along with apparatus for accomplishing same, for minimizing power required to keep an enclosed electronic module from overheating in a high temperature environment, while still operating to maintain the module at greater than a given minimum temperature when the environmental temperatures are far below the sensed minimum temperature for the module. This is accomplished by placing a thin sheet of heating material between the module to be temperature maintained and a heat sink which is exposed to the environment exterior the enclosure. Energy applied to the sandwiched heater prevents transfer of heat from the electronic module to the environment in such a way as to drastically reduce the heat (power consuming) requirements as compared to prior art heater approaches.

Thermo-switch apparatus

A conductive and mechanical energy absorbing gasket is used between an electronics package and a cover of an enclosure to provide microphonics isolation. The electronics package is secured to the cover via a gasket using isolation damping grommets and screws, so that the only substantial transmission of mechanical energy from the case to the electronic package is through the screws themselves. The conductivity of the gasket places the entire enclosure at the same potential as the metal in the electronic package and as the mounting screws, and thus helps prevent the screws from acting as RF antennas.
