A mobile carrier includes a generally planar cargo platform. The mobile carrier includes first and second opposed side rails, each side rail having a portion extending outwardly from the cargo platform, the opposed side rails being adjustably coupled to the cargo platform such that multiple distances between the outwardly extending portion of each side rail may be respectively maintained. The mobile carrier includes first and second opposed end rails, each end rail having a portion extending outwardly from the cargo platform, the opposed end rails being adjustably coupled to the cargo platform such that multiple distances between the outwardly extending portion of each end rail may be respectively maintained. The mobile carrier includes a rod. A receiving structure is configured to maintain the rod at multiple respective positions relative to the receiving structure, the rod and the receiving structure being separable from one another.

An earth-working vehicle, such as a backhoe loader, has an implement, such as a backhoe, mounted in a manner that the implement can be shifted transversely with respect to the vehicle. A hydraulic motor and roller cable or rack are secured to the vehicle main frame and implement supporting plate to position the implement transversely of the vehicle without the jerky movements of prior backhoe loaders.

A modular excavator-backhoe control station is disclosed, the station having two control towers with joystick on their upper ends that are pivotally coupled adjacent a floor of an excavator or backhoe. They have one piece polymeric boots that cover them as well as several additional operator controls. The towers are held in fore-and-aft position by a locking fluid cylinder that is adjustable to a many fore-and-aft positions. The towers also have upper portions that are laterally pivotal.

A work vehicle is disclosed, the vehicle including first and second hydraulic circuits provided with first and second fluids, wherein the fluids are to be is kept apart; at least one fluid cooler for cooling at least one of the fluids; and a means for transferring heat from the hotter fluid to the cooler fluid. Also disclosed is a fluid cooling apparatus for a work vehicle, the work vehicle including a transmission with a first fluid and a hydraulic circuit with a second fluid. The cooling apparatus includes at least one fluid cooler for cooling at least one of the fluids, and an apparatus for transferring heat from the hotter fluid to the other fluid. Also disclosed is a method of cooling fluids of a work vehicle provided with a first hydraulic circuit including a first fluid and a second hydraulic circuit including a second fluid, the fluids to be kept separate. At least one of the hydraulic circuits includes a fluid cooler and a pump. The vehicle is further provided with a heat transfer apparatus for transferring heat from the hotter fluid to the other fluid. The method includes steps of pumping the first or second fluid through the fluid cooler, and pumping the first or second fluid through the heat transfer apparatus.

Apparatus and method for cooling multiple fluids on a work vehicle

In a vehicle, such as a construction vehicle, which has a payload of variable but significant weight with respect to the empty weight of the vehicle, a sensor senses the weight of the payload and transmits a signal representative thereof to a processor. The processor modulates clutch transmission fluid pressure as a function of the payload, permitting more uniform operating characteristics. The sensor can be a hydraulic fluid pressure sensor installed in a hydraulic cylinder used to lift a payload bucket arm.
