One embodiment of the invention could be an automated animal feed dispenser and method, the automated animal feed dispenser comprising a three-wall cabinet generally forming a hollow interior and further defining a feed delivery slot that connects to an angled slide located within the hollow interior; a set of vertically-stacked and spaced-apart drop shelves support animal feed located within the hollow interior, each drop shelf hingedly connects to the cabinet; a set of latches supported by the cabinet, each latch comprises a motorized automotive door lock that controls the drop of a respective drop shelf; a latch control system operates the latches to drop the drop shelves in a timed and sequenced manner that allows dropped drop shelves to successively overlay one another to create a progressively angled slide that empties down upon the angled slide.

Automated animal feed dispenser and method

An HVAC damper includes a sheet metal frame surrounding a series of pivotal damper blades that are each supported by a pair of plastic bearing members. Each bearing member is a unitary piece that includes a radial bearing, a thrust bearing, a lug for connecting to a damper blade, a shaft-receiving feature for connecting to a drive shaft, and multiple crank pins for selectively connecting to a drive linkage. Choosing which crank pin gets connected to the linkage determines a damper blade's rotational direction relative to the other damper blades. Adjacent damper blades preferably rotate in opposite directions to ensure positive sealing engagement between their adjacent blade tips. The bearing members allow the drive linkage to be installed outside the frame to avoid obstructing the airflow through the damper. During assembly, the bearing members allow the damper blades to be placed within the frame prior to installing the bearing members.

A modular garden accessory system. This system comprises a post assembly, one or more branch assemblies, and one or more garden accessories that may be connected to or suspended from the post assembly or the branch assemblies. The system is comprised of a relatively small number of standard parts that may be connected in a number of configurations to obtain a relatively large number of accessories. The system is designed for easy assembly with a minimum number of fasteners. Many of the accessories are constructed about a plastic base member that defines an upper surface appropriate for use as a feeder and a lower surface that allows the accessory to be attached to a post assembly or branch assembly in one of a number of configurations.
