Systems are provided for a gearset for a vehicle transmission. In one example, a system includes a shaft comprising one or more lubricant holes oriented radially within the shaft, and one or more gears positioned radially around a central axis of the shaft. The system further includes a ring positioned circumferentially around the shaft. The ring is shaped with a radially extending portion and an axially extending portion, wherein the radially extending portion may direct lubricant flow from the radially oriented lubricant holes toward the axially extending portion, and the axially extending portion directs lubricant flow from the lubricant holes in an axial direction towards the one or more gears. The axially extending portion and radially extending portion form a cut in the ring.

Methods and systems are provided for a lubricant catching device. In one example, a system may include a device for capturing lubricant flowing in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction. The device receives lubricant from a lubricated, rotating component.

In one example, a motor system is provided which comprises a first electric machine rotationally coupled to a second electric machine by a planetary gear set that has three components: a ring gear, a sun gear, and a carrier with a plurality of planet gears. In the system, the first electric machine varies in size from the second electric machine and one of the planetary assembly components is permanently grounded.

Methods and systems are provided for lubrication of a transmission. In one example, the transmission system may include a pair of shielded bearings attached to a first transmission shaft, each of the shielded bearings including at least one shield that forms a restriction between the shield and a race of the bearing and a cavity positioned axially between the pair of shielded bearings, wherein the restrictions tune lubricant pressurization in the cavity. The transmission system further includes a radial passage in the first transmission shaft in fluidic communication with the cavity and a lubricated transmission component.
