Techniques are disclosed for correcting facial sentiment of digital images. Facial data captured in a target image is analyzed to obtain facial-based sentiment. A favored sentiment is determined based at least in part on the facial-based sentiment. The favored sentiment is then applied to at least one face included in the target image that doesn't reflect the favored sentiment. Analyzing facial data may include detecting facial landmarks that are good indicators of sentiment (e.g., eyes, mouth, eyebrows, jawline, and nose). Such landmarks can be processed, with supervised machine learning, to detect the corresponding facial sentiment. A favored sentiment of the target image is thus identified, and can be applied to one or more non-compliant faces in the target image. In some embodiments, the favored sentiment can be further based on a plurality of additional sentiment indicators, including geo data, text, and/or other images associated with the target image.

Automatic correction of facial sentiment of portrait images

Techniques are disclosed for facilitating the sharing of digital imaging effects from an image originator to an image recipient. A digital imaging effect is the result of a processing technique that is applied to a digital image in a way that produces a particular visual effect. The processing techniques that underlie digital imaging effects such as these can be defined by parameters that establish how the individual pixels comprising the image are manipulated to achieve the desired visual effect. In certain embodiments such defining parameters can be incorporated into a digital image file that thus contains not only data defining the image itself, but also parameters that define one or more effects that may have been applied to the image. This advantageously allows a recipient of the digital image file to not only view the image, but also to use the incorporated parameters to apply the effect to other images.

Image effect extraction

Techniques for non-destructive automatic face-aware vignettes are described. In implementations, a request is received to generate a vignette for an image that includes face(s) or other salient object(s) or a combination faces and salient objects displayed in the image. Based on the request, a boundary can be determined that encloses the face(s) or other salient object(s) or both. Using the boundary, one or more parameters of the vignette are automatically modified to customize the vignette based on the face(s) or other salient object(s) or both displayed in the image. Then, a customized version of the vignette can be generated for the image based on the modified parameters.

Techniques for version preview and selection are described, including detecting a plurality of versions of an asset in a compound document, receiving an input indicating selection of a version, wherein the version is one of the plurality of versions, and updating the compound document with the version.

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing a technique for repairing links in a file. The file can contain one or more links, each link referring to a target file. For one or more of the links, a file identifier such as a file name, file number, or file address is stored. Alternatively, for one or more of the links, target information is stored that identifies an old target and a new target for the link. The links can be repaired based on the stored information. The stored information can be used to identify changes to the links that occurred while the file containing the link was inaccessible to the system, for example, due to the file being locked by a user.

The present invention provides a method for a developer to create and display a &ldquo;dialog definition&rdquo;, i.e., a description of the dialog that has the position and size of its constituent elements expressed in relative layout rules. These layout rules include expressions of alignment and/or justification of the elements within a container, rather than expressions of the coordinate positions of the elements. In addition, a set of text strings is provided for each language in a separate language file. The user may identify an operating system and a language in which the dialog will be displayed, and the size of the elements in the identified operating system and language will be determined by the computer. The description is interpreted in the computer to lay out the dialog.

A graphical user interface (GUI) for use in a graphical display on a computer monitor includes a cursor that allows a user to point to an area of interest in the graphical display. The GUI also includes an information element that provides a first level of information in the graphical display when the user first points to the area of interest and then provides a subsequent level of information in the graphical display if the user continues to point to the area of interest or presses a selected keystroke.
