The invention relates a method for producing a component from a fiber-reinforced material, wherein a fibrous preform which consists of fibers and an uncured polymer matrix is positioned on a mold, and a thermoelectric film is positioned on the fibrous preform and/or on the mold, and said thermoelectric film is heated up by exposure to microwaves when a negative pressure or vacuum is applied and, as a consequence of this, heats up the fibrous preform while curing the polymer matrix.

Method for producing a component from a fiber-reinforced material

In an even numbered polygonal microwave resonator wherein a high mode microwave mode is formed and in the resonator volume a homogeneous field distribution is established for the thermal processing of workpieces, a microwave in-coupling structure pair is provided along a joining edge of two wall segments alternately at opposite sides and the in-coupling structure pairs or in communication, via a rectangular microwave guide channel, with a microwave sources supplying microwaves to the in-coupling structure pairs so that the microwaves entering the resonator from each in-coupling structure are directed toward an opposite corner area of the resonator and are reflected from the opposite corner area back into the center area of the resonator in the form of separate beams.

Microwave resonator and method of operating microwave resonator

In a continuous flow microwave heater for heating a fluid including a microwave source connected to an applicator so as to supply microwave energy to the applicator, the applicator is a rectangular block-like resonator space with opposite front walls and side walls with a microwave in-coupling opening in one of the side walls through which the microwave energy is supplied to the resonator space in which a linearly polarized base mode TEis excited. A dielectric tube extends through the resonator space to conduct the fluid to be heated through the applicator, the dielectric tube being so arranged that the microwave energy supplied to the applicator is completely dis-sipated into the fluid flowing through the dielectric tube.

Continuous flow microwave heater

A microwave device for de-icing and keeping areas of hollow body structures free from ice keeps atmospherically exposed leading edges and adjacent areas free of ice by means of a coolant circuit. The surface segments between the adjacent areas are kept free from ice as a result of the effects of a microwave device on the wall of the surface segments and the heating that occurs by the exposure to microwave radiation. A series of consecutive microwave-tight chambers is disposed behind the wall of the exposed area. A microwave source supplies microwaves to the chambers with the aid of a decoupling structure disposed therein, resulting in high/multimode excitation. The waste heat of the microwave sources is collected by means of a coolant circuit and transported to the r areas adjacent the leading edge for permanent heating in order to keep the surfaces free from ice. The microwave sources are cyclically operated.

Microwave device for de-icing, or keeping hollow bodies free from ice and method for the operation of the device

In a millimeter wave de-icing system for the front areas of exposed shell structures, at least one independently operable millimeter wave generator is disposed in each shell structure closely adjacent the surfaces of the shell structure to be de-iced or kept free of ice and uncoupling structures are flanged to the microwave generators and have uncoupling openings disposed along the areas of the shell structure to be heated so as to provide a millimeter wave front directed toward this area. The area subjected to the wavefront includes walls of a dielectric composite material with a metallic skin whereby the millimeter wave front penetrates the wall and at least partially is converted into heat within the wall of composite material thereby providing for rapid and effective heat supply to the wall areas of the shell structure to be kept free of ice.

Compact millimeterwave system for De-icing and for preventing the formation of ice on the outer surfaces of shell structures exposed to meterological influences

In a microwave de-icing system for the front areas of exposed shell structures, at least one independently operable microwave generator is disposed in each shell structure closely adjacent the surfaces of the shell structure to be de-iced or kept free of ice and uncoupling means are flanged to the microwave generators with uncoupling openings disposed along the area of the shell structure to be heated so as to provide a microwave wave front directed toward this area. The area subjected to the wave-front includes walls of a dielectric composite material with a metallic skin whereby the microwave front penetrates into the wall and is converted at least partially into heat within the wall of composite material thereby providing for rapid and effective heat supply to the wall areas of the shell structure to be kept free of ice.

Compact microwave system for de-icing and for preventing icing of the outer surfaces of hollow or shell structures which are exposed to meterological influences

In a microwave system for heating, and controlling the temperature of, a heat bath including a containment for a liquid, with a wall on which the microwave system is mounted, the microwave system comprises a microwave source operating at an ISM frequency of 2 to 5 GHz, a microwave conductor for conducting microwaves from the microwave source to a resonator through a ceramic window disposed in the resonator wall, the resonator has a common wall portion with the containment, which common wall portion consists of a grid having a mesh width that prevents passage of microwave radiation but provides for communication of the liquid between the resonator and the containment.

Microwave system for heating, and controlling the temperature of a heat bath

In a de-icing system for preventing the formation of ice on, or for de-icing, icing-prone areas of an airplane, the icing-prone areas include dielectric composite structural materials, which are highly permeable for electromagnetic waves, and at least two microwave sources are provided and connected to microwave uncoupling areas disposed adjacent the icing-prone areas, and the microwave sources are interconnected by redundant switchable microwave guides permitting bridging of a microwave source in case of failure of such microwave source.

Microwave de-icing system for aircrafts

In an apparatus for the selective heating of foods disposed on a serving tray to serving temperature by means of a microwave oven having a gyrotron as a heat source, individual guide means are provided for guiding the microwave radiation individually to particular dishes on the tray and a control computer controls the radiation of, and the heat generated in, the dishes during passages of the tray with the dishes through the microwave oven.

Apparatus for the selective heating of foods disposed on a tray using a gyrotron for microwave heating of the foods

In a high-mode microwave resonator for high-temperature treatment of materials, the resonator comprises a housing with a polygonal cross-section formed by planar housing wall segments and planar end walls. One of the end walls includes an in-coupling window arranged so as to direct a microwave beam into the resonator at an angle with respect to the housing axis and toward an edge between adjacent wall segments such that the microwave beam is divided, upon reflection, into two symmetrical beam components which, upon further reflection, provide for an essentially homogeneous field distribution throughout the resonator interior.
