The invention includes a yoke assembly containing a top and a bottom proximity latch magnet. The invention includes a voice coil attached to a voice coil bias steel. The crash stop includes a magnetic proximity latch created by the voice coil bias steel attracted to the top and bottom proximity latch magnets. It may also include using the magnetic proximity latch with a magnetically weakened contact latch. Experiments have shown that the combined magnetic proximity latch and the magnetically weakened contact latch require significantly less initial releasing force than the prior art crash stops, and meet rotary shock requirements. The invention includes making the actuator assembly, the voice coil motor assembly, and the CSS hard disk drive. The invention includes operating the CSS hard disk drive with at least the magnetic proximity latch.

A head suspension assembly comprising a visco-elastic coupling between a load beam dimple or protrusion and a suspension flexure to which a slider is rigidly coupled. The damping material is selected for a low static modulus, which reduces mechanical vibration by absorbing kinetic energy and releasing the energy as heat. The gimbaling function of the suspension is not significantly effected by the damping material because the damping effect occurs primarily when there is an undesirable relative velocity (movement with respect to time) between the dimple and the flexure.

A shallow box binder cover is provided for a binder containing a plurality of pages. The cover has a stiff, opaque core through which a plurality of display openings are defined. These display openings are surrounded by the structure of the cover core. A separate transparent plastic blister or box is located in each of the display openings. Each transparent box has a raised interior bubble surrounded by a base having mounting flanges projecting laterally from opposite sides of the periphery of the base. These mounting flanges are held against the inside surface of the front cover core so that the raised interior bubbles project into the display openings and into close proximity to the outer surface of the cover core. A front cover liner is disposed across the bases of the boxes to define separate, hollow enclosed cavities within the interior portions of each of the bubbles. Selected three-dimensional objects are placed within the bubbles before the front cover liner is disposed across the bases of the boxes. These three-dimensional objects are thereby loosely entrapped within the bubble portions of the boxes in the display openings and are visible from the front of the binder cover.

A double album of photograph display includes two mirror image portions located on opposite sides of a central web. Each mirror image portion is formed with a stiff, rectangular outer cover panel, an intermediate end panel, and a stiff inner cover panel. A packet of photograph mounting sheets is secured to the inside surface of the end panel of each mirror image portion of the base structure. Each of the photograph mounting sheets is capable of mounting at least one photograph. Preferably, pockets are provided in each photograph mounting sheet to accommodate a plurality of photographs in each mounting sheet. Photograph viewing windows are formed through the inner cover panels. Mutually engageable fasteners on each side of the central web may be provided to hold each packet within the confines of its associated outer and inner cover panel and the end panel to which the packet is secured. The album may be used as a freestanding structure whereby photographs in the viewing windows of the inner cover panels are displayed much in the manner of a freestanding frame for a plurality of photographs. When the fasteners are disengaged, the photograph mounting pages within both packets are accessible for viewing concurrently. The album may also be completely folded into a compact, generally rectangular book-like structure and stored in a book case, if desired.

Double album display

A photo album case or other storage container is formed with an outer shell having laterally enclosing walls and an end structure opposite an open end to the shell. At least one transparent display panel is formed in the shell, and preferably the shell is formed from a single sheet of transparent stock. A stiff, inner display retainer is inserted into the open end of the shell and fits into the storage cavity defined within the shell. The display retainer conforms to the shape of at least the transparent display panel wall. The display retainer preferably extends beyond the display wall to extend across another of the inner shell surfaces immediately adjacent thereto. A visual display sheet, such as a photographic print, is located between the transparent display wall and the display retainer. The display sheet may be merely inserted in between the transparent display wall and the display retainer, or it may be mounted upon either the retainer or the inner surface of the transparent display panel wall. In any of these arrangements the display retainer presses against the visual display sheet to hold it firmly against the central area of the display wall. The visual display sheet thereby provides an indicia of the contents of the storage container.

A photo album case or other storage container is formed with an outer shell having laterally enclosing walls and an end panel opposite an open end to the shell. At least one display panel is formed in the shell and a window is defined in the display panel. A stiff, inner display retainer is inserted into the open end of the shell and fits into the storage cavity defined within the shell. The display retainer conforms to the shape of at least the display panel wall. The display retainer extends beyond the display wall to extend across another of the inner surfaces immediately adjacent thereto. A visual display sheet, such as a photographic print, is located between the display wall and the display retainer. The display sheet may be merely inserted in between the display wall and the display retainer, or it may be mounted upon either the retainer or the inner surface of the display panel wall. In any of these arrangements the display retainer presses against the inner surface of the display wall and against another of the inner surfaces of the shell immediately adjacent thereto. The retainer thereby hold the visual display sheet firmly against the inner surface of the display wall in the area surrounding the window therein. The visual display sheet thereby provides an indicia of the contents of the storage container.
