A light-emitting cell, includes a light-emitting material which can emit light in response to a collision of an electron beam; an electron-emitting unit having a carbon nanotube as an electron source for releasing the electron beam and emitting the electron beam to ram against the light-emitting material; and a gate disposed above the carbon nanotube for controlling the electron beam emitting from the carbon nanotube whether to pass through the gate to ram against the light-emitting material at a specific address wherein the gate comprises a network conductor including a first metal layer for determining an x-coordinate of the address, a second metal layer for determining a y-coordinate of the address, and an extracting electrode placed between the carbon nanotube and the first metal layer for extracting the electron beam from the carbon nanotube.

Light emitting cell and method for emitting light

A flat lamp structure is disclosed. The flat lamp structure includes a gas discharge chamber, a fluorescence substance, a discharge gas, and a plurality of electrodes. The fluorescence substance is disposed on the inner wall of the gas discharge chamber, and the discharge gas is disposed in the gas discharge chamber. The electrodes are disposed on the outer wall of the gas discharge chamber, wherein the gas discharge chamber comprises a dielectric substrate, a plate, and a plurality of rods, and the plate is disposed on the upper portion of the dielectric substrate and the rods are disposed between the plate and the dielectric substrate, and the plate and the edge of dielectric are connected. Additionally, the gas discharge chamber, for example, can dispose with at least a spacer to enhance the strength of the gas discharge chamber.

Flat lamp structure with electrodes disposed on outer surface of the substrate

A planar fluorescent lamp having a first panel, a second panel, a glass rim, a venting tube, and a set of electrodes. Fluorescent layers are formed on both the first panel and the second panel. The glass rim is mounted on edges of the first and second panels. A recess and a gap are formed in the glass rim; the recess is used for placing the electrodes while the gap is reserved for installing the venting tube. The first panel, the second panel, and the glass rim are so arranged so that a cavity is formed thereby. The cavity is vacuumed via the venting tube and mercury vapor and inert gas are then introduced into the cavity.

Cold cathode fluorescent flat lamp

An active matrix organic light-emitting diode and manufacturing method thereof is provided. A thin film transistor having a gate, a source and a drain is formed over a substrate. An anode layer is formed over the substrate such that the anode layer connects electrically with the source terminal of the thin film transistor. An organic layer is formed to cover the anode layer and the thin film transistor. The organic layer between the source and the drain serves as a channel region of the thin film transistor. A cathode layer is formed over the organic layer. Since the molecules inside the organic layer are aligned in a direction from the source to the drain and perpendicular to a direction from the anode layer to the cathode layer, electron mobility at the channel region is enhanced and the emitting efficiency of the diode is increased.

A packaging structure for an OLED/PLED device. The packaging structure has a glass substrate on which a luminescent element is completed, and a sealing cap bonded to the rim of the glass substrate so as to seal the luminescent element within an airtight space. Also, a sealing agent is disposed between the rims of the sealing cap and the glass substrate, wherein the sealing agent is an alloy with a low eutectic point about 100&tilde;300&deg; C.

The rim of the transparent substrate is bonded to the rim of a sealing cap to form an airtight space. A sealing structure with a first sealing layer and a second sealing layer is provided on the bonding rim between the sealing cap and the transparent substrate. The materials used to form the first sealing layer and the second sealing layer are different.

Housing structure with multiple sealing layers

A method of fabricating an emitter of a field emission display. A mixture of metal and silver paste with glass material is screen printed on a substrate as a silver electrode. The metal is selected from a hard solder alloy such as Al/Si alloy containing tin, zinc, aluminum or other low melting point metal. Alternatively, the metal and the silver paste with the glass material are separately screen printed on the substrate. The metal is selected from tin, zinc, aluminum, or an alloy with a low melting point such as aluminum/silicon alloy. A carbon nano-tube layer is formed on the silver electrode by coating the carbon nano-tube material with the electric arc. Alternately a catalyst layer can be formed on the silver electrode prior to the formation of the carbon nano-tube layer. A metal layer such as nickel and copper is formed on the carbon nano-tube layer to prevent the carbon nano-tube layer from absorbing gas.

The present invention discloses an organic light-emitting diode (LED). The organic light emitting diode is supported on an indium/tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate The organic light-emitting diode includes an amorphous-silicon (&agr;-Si) resistive layer covering the ITO coated glass substrate The organic light-emitting diode further includes a polyaniline (PANI) layer covering the amorphous silicon (&agr;-Si) resistive layer and an organic light emitting layer overlying the PANI layer And, the organic light-emitting diode further has a conductive electrode layer covering the light emitting layer In a preferred embodiment, the amorphous silicon (&agr;-Si) resistive layer functioning as a current limiting layer for limiting a current density conducted between the ITO coated glass substrate and the conductive electrode layer under a maximum allowable current density of 1000 mA/cm . In another preferred embodiment, the amorphous silicon (&agr;-Si) resistive layer functioning as a current distribution layer for distributing a current conducted between the ITO coated glass substrate and the conductive electrode layer. Thus, the difference between a greatest current density from a smallest current density is under a maximum allowable current density difference of 1000 mA/cm . In summary, this invention discloses an organic light-emitting diode (LED) that includes an inorganic layer functioning as a current limiting layer.

Structure and fabrication process for an improved polymer light emitting diode

A method of fabricating an organic light emitting diode. A fluid is sprayed from a nozzle to dissolve organic material or a water-soluble material to be removed from a multi-layer structure of organic luminescent layer, hole transport layer, hole injection layer, electron transport layer and electron injection layer on a substrate. Using an air venting or pumping system such as a vacuum system, the dissolved organic or water-soluble material is removed. The multi-layer structure of organic luminescent layer, hole transport layer, hole injection layer, electron transport layer and electron injection layer can be patterned. After patterning, a step of encapsulation is performed. Thereby, the multi-layer structure is wrapped insulated from oxygen and water. The possibility for the cathode to react with oxygen or water molecules is reduced, and the device lifetime is effectively increased.

Method of fabricating organic light emitting diode

A structure of a vacuum display device is mainly constructed in a vacuum chamber, which is formed by the enclosure of a surface plate, a base plate, and a spacer plate. The surface plate includes a display matrix and a black matrix, the base plate includes an inner surface and an outer surface, while the spacer plate possesses a plurality of recesses in its edges. The required electrode lead wires are disposed on the inner surface of the base plate and are extended out through the recesses. A plurality of fins are disposed on the spacer plates to support the surface plate, the base plate, and the spacer plate, and are located at the black matrices. Additionally, sealing material is used to seal the connections between the surface plate, the base plate, and the spacer plate, and is also used to fill the gaps in the recesses.

Structure of a vacuum display device

A synchronous switching device. The switching device includes a common electrode, distributed electrodes, voltage converters and a signal generator. The distributed electrodes are aligned in a straight line facing the common electrode. Each distributed electrode has a length smaller than the common electrode. Each voltage converter is electrically coupled to the common electrode as well as one distributed electrode. All voltage converters are electrically coupled to the signal generator. A first panel, a second panel and two side panels together form a planar lamp with a hollow space inside. A layer of fluorescent coating is deposited on the interior surface of the first and the second panel. The distributed electrodes and the common electrodes are mounted on each side of the hollow space. Through high voltage synchronous signals generated by the signal generator and the voltage converters, the planar fluorescent lamp is lit.
