The present invention relates to pyridylethers of formula (I) or their agriculturally acceptable salts or derivatives, wherein the variables are defined accord-ing to the description, processes and intermediates for preparing the pyridylethers of formula (I), compositions comprising them and their use as herbicides, i.e. for controlling harmful plants, and also a method for controlling unwanted vegetation which comprises allowing a herbicidal effective amount of at least one pyridylether of formula (I) to act on plants, their seed and/or their habitat.

Herbicidal pyridylethers

The present invention relates to uracilpyridines of formula (I), or their agriculturally acceptable salts, wherein the variables are defined according to the description, process for preparation their use as herbicides, i.e. for controlling harmful plants, and also a method for controlling unwanted vegetation which comprises allowing a herbicidal effective amount of at least one uracil pyridine of formula (I) to act on plants, their seed and/or their habitat.

The present invention refers to a method for controlling undesired vegetation at a plant cultivation site, the method comprising the steps of providing, at said site, a plant that comprises at least one nucleic acid comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) which is resistant or tolerant to a PPO-inhibiting herbicide by applying to said site an effective amount of said herbicide. The invention further refers to plants comprising wild-type or mutated PPO enzymes, and methods of obtaining such plants.

Plants having increased tolerance to herbicides

The present invention relates to crystalline forms of ethyl[3-[2-chloro-4-fluoro-5-(1-methyl-6-trifluoromethyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-3-yl)phenoxy]-2-pyridyloxy]acetate (CAS 353292-31-6), herein after also referred to as 'compound of formula (I)'. The invention also relates to a process for the production of these crystalline forms, formulations for plant protection and herbicidal compositions which contain one of these crystalline forms.
