A method comprises detecting zapping to or from one or more services; determining whether the zapping includes termination of a password-protected service; and sending a trigger message () only if the zapping includes termination of a password-protected service (X, Y, Z). In one embodiment, the trigger message is sent to a smartcard (SC). In one embodiment, the password-protected service is password-protected for parental control. In one embodiment, the method further includes requesting a password when the zapping includes zapping to a password-protected service. In one embodiment, the password-protected service is a pincode-protected service.

Method and apparatus for parental control of wireless broadcast content

Provided are apparatuses and methods in a digital broadcast transmission system for receiving, processing and rendering transmitted content. A digital receiver capable of receiving and rendering both DVB-H and DVB-T signals may include a coupling means for connecting to another terminal for receiving program data or parameters. The digital receiver may reconfigure one or more components in order to handle the differing signal types. Such a receiver system allows a user to move seamlessly from a mobile device to a stationary device without significant effort and time. The receiver may further use transmission streams of varying priority to enhance and otherwise modify the displayed content according to a user's selection. Users with small display screens or poor eyesight may benefit from such enhancements features.

Combined receiver for DVB-H and DVB-T transmission

A system and method is disclosed for enabling individualized software functions in a device. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention software is distributed as omnibus installations containing various software modules that are initially turned off. The user gains access to the turned off modules by requesting a certificate from a system provider. The system provider creates and transmits a certificate containing the information required to enable the desired module. The device can then use the certificate to access the desired software.
