An electronic device and method are disclosed. The electronic device includes: a battery, a wireless power transfer (WPT) coil, wireless power transceiver circuitry, a charging circuit, and a processor electrically connected to the wireless power transceiver circuitry and the charging circuit. The processor implements the method, including: receiving first detecting power from an external electronic device, determining whether a reception voltage generated by the received first detecting power is higher than a first predetermined voltage value, based on detecting that the reception voltage is higher than the first predetermined voltage value, supplying power from the battery to the wireless power transceiver circuitry, outputting via the WPT coil, foreign object detecting power based on the supplied power, and based on detecting an electrical change in the foreign object detecting power caused by presence of a foreign object, determining that an error has occurred.

Method of detecting foreign object and electronic device

An electronic device may comprise: a battery; a charging circuit; a wireless power receiver circuit configured to acquire transmitted power wirelessly output from an external electronic device; and a processor. The processor may be configured to control the electronic device to: charge the battery through the charging circuit using received power acquired through the wireless power receiver circuit; identify at least one piece of information related to the charging, while the charging operation is performed; transmit a designated signal corresponding to suspension of the transmitted power to the external electronic device such that the external electronic device enters a wireless charging standby mode, in which the external electronic device holds the operation of outputting the transmitted power, at least partially based on the at least one piece of information; identify first situation information regarding the electronic device during the wireless charging standby mode; identify second situation information regarding the electronic device, in response to identifying the first situation information; and sense the electronic device being detached from the external electronic device based on the electronic device corresponding to the first situation information and the second situation information.

Wireless power charging method and electronic device using same

An electronic device may include a display, a power reception circuit, and a processor. The processor may perform wireless charging by receiving power wirelessly from an external electronic device through the power reception circuit, and receive data on one or more reasons to stop wireless charging from the external electronic device during the wireless charging. Also, the processor may transmit acknowledge (ACK) data to the external electronic device in response to receiving the data on the one or more reasons to stop wireless charging, and display, through the display, at least one reason to stop wireless charging included in the data on the one or more reasons to stop wireless charging. Other embodiments are possible.

Electronic device and method for transmission of reason wireless charging is stopping

According to one embodiment, an electronic device comprises a battery, an antenna module including a first coil and a second coil, at least one switch electrically connected with the antenna module, a magnetic field controller electrically connected with the antenna module, a charger electrically connected with the battery and the magnetic field controller, and at least one processor electrically connected with the at least one switch, the magnetic field controller, and the charger. The at least one processor may be configured to, based on an operation mode associated with the antenna module, control the at least one switch to connect the first coil with the magnetic field controller, or to connect the first coil and the second coil in parallel and allow the first coil and the second coil connected in parallel to connect with the magnetic field controller. Other embodiments may be possible as well.

Multi-coil antenna, electronic device, and method for connecting multi-coil antenna in electronic device

According to an embodiment, a wireless power transmitting device may include a transmission coil, a DC/DC converter configured to output a driving voltage, an inverter configured to output AC power to the transmission coil, and a controller. The controller may be configured to output a first control signal for generating the AC power having a first frequency to the inverter, measure a demodulated voltage generated by demodulating a signal applied to the transmission coil, and output, to the inverter, a second control signal for generating the AC power having a second frequency different from the first frequency, based on a first peak-to-peak value identified in the demodulated voltage being a preset first value or more. The inverter may output the AC power having the second frequency to the transmission coil based on the second control signal. Other various embodiments are possible as well.

Wireless power transmitting device for wirelessly transmitting power, wireless power receiving device for wirelessly receiving power, and operation method thereof

Disclosed is an electronic device that includes a display, a communication module, at least one microphone, at least one speaker, a processor operatively coupled to the display, the communication module, the microphone, and the speaker, and a memory operatively coupled to the processor. The memory may store instructions, when executed, causing the processor to transmit, through the speaker, a first audio sound including first information, receive, through the microphone, a second audio sound including second information responding to the first information from a first external electronic device, transmit, through the speaker, a third audio sound including third information for acquiring a distance to the first external electronic device after receiving the second audio sound, and receive, through the microphone, a fourth audio sound including fourth information responding to the third information from the first external electronic device.
