A display device includes: a backlight unit configured to emit light; a first substrate positioned in a path of a light emitted from the backlight unit and including a first pixel and a second pixel displaying different colors from each other; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a light amount control layer positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate; a gate line disposed on the first substrate and extending in a first direction; a storage line disposed on the substrate and spaced apart from the gate line; and a data line disposed on the first substrate and extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction. The first pixel includes a first thin film transistor, a first pixel electrode, and a first light conversion unit. The second pixel electrode includes a second thin film transistor, and a second light conversion unit.

Display device including a light amount control layer

A display device is capable of improving image quality including: a first and second substrate; a first and second color layer adjacent to each other between the first and second substrate, and arranged along a first direction; a third color layer including a first divided color layer adjacent to the first color layer in a second direction and a second divided color layer adjacent to the first divided color layer the first direction and adjacent to the second color layer in the second direction; a light blocking layer including a light blocking portion between the first and second color layer and a light blocking portion between the first and second divided color layer. The first, second and third color layer emit lights of different colors and at least two of them have different sizes. A width of the first and second light blocking portion is substantially equal.

A liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate positioned parallel to the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate. A black matrix disposed on one of the first substrate and the second substrate and configured to define a pixel region. A lower pixel electrode on the first substrate corresponding to the pixel region. An upper insulating layer disposed on the lower pixel electrode and having at least one groove. Liquid crystal display device and method for fabricating the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel which has a curved surface in a first direction and a flat surface in a second direction crossing the first direction, and includes, a first substrate, a second substrate which faces the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer which is disposed between the first and second substrates and includes liquid crystal molecules pre-tilted at predetermined angles with reference to a direction substantially vertical to a plane of the display panel, where the liquid crystal molecules are pre-tilted at the predetermined angles corresponding to cell gaps defined by distances between the first substrate and the second substrate, respectively.
