A secondary battery including: a battery unit including a battery cell and a lead tab that protrudes from the battery cell; a frame case for supporting the battery unit and including a first support portion for supporting the battery cell and a second support portion for supporting the lead tab; and a connection member for perforating a connection hole formed in the lead tab and extending in a direction of the second support unit, wherein the connection hole of the lead tab includes: a first connection hole that is spaced apart from a first edge of the lead tab by a first width; and a second connection hole that is spaced apart from a second edge of the lead tab by a second width. The secondary battery may reduce electrical resistance of a charge/discharge path and has improved efficiency.

A battery pack is disclosed. One aspect includes a battery pack module having a housing and a plurality of battery packs, each pack housing a case in which a plurality of batteries are received, an electrode tab to connect the batteries to form one unit, and a data wire having a first end connected to the electrode tab, to act as a signal transmitting line of the plurality of batteries.

A case for a battery cell includes a heat radiation unit, a terminal unit, and an insulating frame interlocked with the heat radiation unit and the terminal unit to form the case. The heat radiation unit and the terminal unit are integrated by the insulating frame so that it is possible to prevent the heat radiation unit or the terminal unit from being separated from the case.

A polymer battery pack assembly comprising a mounting frame having a first cavity defining a first mounting location and a second cavity defining a second mounting location, the first and second cavities being separated from each other; a top case mounted on the second mounting location, the top case having a third cavity defining a third mounting location; a lithium polymer battery cell mounted within the first mounting location, the battery cell having a positive tap and a negative tap extending beyond the first cavity towards the second mounting location; and a protection circuit module mounted in the third mounting location, the protection circuit module being electrically connected to the positive tap and the negative tap when the top case is mounted to the mounting frame such that the protection circuit module fits into said second cavity.

Provided is a battery pack with improved heat dissipation efficiency. The battery pack includes a holder case, and a plurality of batteries disposed inside the holder case. The holder case includes a plurality of ribs disposed inside the holder case. Each of the ribs has a column extending in a direction substantially parallel to a side surface of the holder case, and each of the batteries is accommodated between the columns of the ribs. The column has a heat dissipation hole therein extending along the extension direction of the column. An air flow is formed through the heat dissipation hole, and heat generated during a charge and/or discharge operation dissipates through the air flow in the heat dissipation hole. A portion of the columns are separated from each other forming a gap. The heat generated from the batteries also dissipates through this gap.

A battery pack includes a bare cell including an electrode assembly arranged within a can having an opening that is sealed by a cap plate, a protective circuit module (PCM) arranged on the cap plate, a lead member connecting the PCM to the cap plate; a coupling member inserted into the cap plate and coupled to the lead member. The coupling member is made out of a different material than that of the cap plate, each of the coupling member and the lead member include nickel. By including such a coupling member, the strength and durability of the weld connecting the cap plate to the PCM is improved and the contact resistance is lowered.

A battery pack includes a plurality of batteries; a circuit unit for controlling charging and discharging operations of the plurality of batteries; a case for containing the plurality of batteries and the circuit unit, and comprising an assembly of at least two sub-cases; and a submersion checking unit formed on a coupling portion between the at least two sub-cases. By using the battery pack, it is possible to rapidly cope with the submersion by easily checking the submersion of the battery pack, and to easily find the cause of functional deterioration or a malfunction.
