An airbag apparatus for a vehicle may include an airbag cushion configured to be provided with a vent hole for discharging inflation gas therein to the outside; a flap configured to have an external circumferential surface partially coupled to the airbag cushion along a rim of the vent hole; and a tether configured to have one end portion penetrating through the vent hole of the airbag cushion to be coupled to an internal side surface of the flap and be partially supported on an internal side surface of the airbag cushion to pull the flap when the airbag cushion is fully deployed, to close the vent hole and release a tensile force when the airbag cushion is loaded to deploy the flap outwardly of the airbag cushion by the inflation gas, to open the vent hole.

A method for controlling a passenger airbag may include determining whether an occupant is present on a passenger seat; determining whether the occupant seated on the passenger seat has fastened a safety belt; determining whether deployment of a passenger airbag is required; and deploying, when the deployment of the passenger airbag is required, a main chamber of the passenger airbag, and further deploying a sub-chamber connected to the main chamber of the passenger airbag to be interlocked with the deployment of the main chamber when the occupant is present on the passenger seat and has fastened the safety belt.

Method for controlling passenger airbag and passenger airbag system using the same

A front airbag apparatus for a vehicle may include an airbag chamber including front panels, and internal tethers connecting the front panels of the airbag chamber to an airbag housing and dividing the airbag chamber into a plurality of sections, in which lengths of the internal tethers may be smaller than a length of the airbag chamber in a front-rear direction of the vehicle, and when the airbag chamber is fully inflated, joints of the internal tethers on the front panels may be recessed, whereby the front panels may form a prominence-depression shape.

Front airbag for vehicle

The airbag system for vehicles includes an airbag housing, a sliding door and a connection member. The airbag housing has a gas injection hole, through which inflation gas is injected into an airbag cushion when a vehicle collision occurs. The sliding door moves over the gas injection hole to control the amount of inflation gas injected into the airbag cushion. The connection member is connected between the airbag cushion and the sliding door such that the sliding door is moved by the inflation of the airbag cushion.
