There is provided an IAD (integrated access device) system in an ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) system. In the IAD system, a first adapter is connected to the telephone one to one and has TDM channel information associated with the first adapter, for converting a voice signal received from the telephone to voice data and transmitting the voice data on a corresponding TDM channel via a telephone line. A second adapter is connected to the computer one to one and has TDM channel information associated with the second adapter, for transmitting data received from the computer on a corresponding TDM channel via the telephone line. A home master has information about the channels of the adapters, compresses voice data and data received via the telephone line, and transmits the compressed data via a general subscriber line. A MACS receives compressed signals from each home via the general subscriber line, decompresses the compressed signals, separates the decompressed signals according to destination networks, and transmits the separated signals to the corresponding networks.

Home network system in asymmetric digital subscriber line system

There is provided a method of reconnecting a communication link terminated by a service impediment during a service between a mobile station (MS) subscriber and the other party communicating with the MS subscriber through a mobile communication system having a plurality of mobile switching centers (MSCs) connected to one another, each MSC being connected to a plurality of base stations (BSs). When the service impediment lasts for at least a predetermined first time period, the MS subscriber sends a reconnection request signal. Then, the service is reinitiated between the MS subscriber and the other party through one of the plurality of BSs and one of MSCs connected to the BS in response to the reconnection request signal.

Reconnection of dropped call in mobile communication system

Reconnection of a dropped call in a mobile communicating system. In the situation that a call drop occurs and a call is to be disconnected during a call service, a mobile station is informed of the call drop and the call is reconnected or disconnected according to a response of the mobile station without being released by a unilateral decision by a system. Furthermore, when the call drop occurs, the mobile station searches for an available channel and requests a call reconnection to the system.

Method for reconnection of a dropped call in mobile communication system

There is provided a vehicle navigation network using a mobile telecommunication system. In the vehicle navigation network, a vehicle navigation apparatus has a satellite signal receiver and a mileage calculator, which determines a current location of a vehicle based on a satellite signal and a mileage of the vehicle to its destination, and transmits information about the vehicle location from a mobile terminal to a base station transceiver system (BTS) periodically. The BTS receives a signal from the mobile terminal and transmits data to a base station controller (BSC), when a vehicle navigation service is requested. The BSC is connected to the BTS, which discriminates a call requesting the vehicle navigation service from a typical voice call and transmission of a text message. The BSC connects the voice call to a mobile switching center (MSC) in the case of the voice call, and connects the vehicle navigation service requesting call to one of a plurality of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) switches when the vehicle navigation service requests the call. The ATM switches are connected to a navigation server, for a handoff and transmission of packet data when the BSC requests the vehicle navigation service. When the vehicle navigation service is requested from an ATM switch, the navigation server receives information about the current location and destination of a vehicle, road condition information, and map information and transmits route information to the navigation apparatus.

Vehicle navigation network, apparatus and method for use in a mobile telecommunication system

A method for managing voice registration entries of voice recognition apparatus for use in both a handset and a hands-free kit. In the method, it is determined whether the handset is set to a hands-free mode where the handset is mounted on a cradle, thus connecting with the hands-free kit. If the handset is set to the hands-free mode, a voice registration entry for the handset is compared with a voice registration entry for the hands-free kit to calculate an entry difference value therebetween. A voice recognition process is performed, if the entry difference value is a minimum value, e.g., substantially zero. If the entry difference is larger than the minimum value, then a voice entry is registered for the hands-free kit, in response to a user confirmation. If the entry difference is smaller than the minimum value, then the voice entry is registered for the handset, in response to a user confirmation.
