Provided is an electronic device that includes a first housing including a first side facing a first direction, a second side facing a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a first lateral side surrounding at least part of a space between the first side and the second side, wherein the first lateral side includes a first conductive portion and a first non-conductive portion; a second housing including a third side facing a third direction, a fourth side facing a fourth direction opposite to the third direction, a second lateral side surrounding at least part of a space between the third side and the fourth side and a ground member, wherein the second lateral side includes a second conductive portion and a second non-conductive portion; a flexible display disposed in the first housing and the second housing; a connecting member which connects the first housing and the second housing such that the first housing and the second housing are folded to face each other, wherein when the first housing and the second housing are folded, the first non-conductive portion and the second non-conductive portion abut against each other; at least one wireless communication circuit electrically connected to the first conductive portion; and at least one switching circuit disposed in the second housing, wherein the at least one switching circuit is electrically connected between the second conductive portion and the ground member such that the second conductive portion can be selectively connected to the ground member, and wherein the first lateral side forms at least a part of an exterior of the electronic device.

Provided is an electronic device that includes first and second housings, a display, a connecting member connecting the first and second housings, first and second conductive members, and a wireless communication circuit. The first housing includes a first side facing a first direction, a second side facing a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a first lateral side surrounding at least part of a space between the first side and the second side. The second housing includes a third side facing a third direction, a fourth side facing a fourth direction opposite to the third direction, and a second lateral side surrounding at least part of a space between the third side and the fourth side. The connecting member connects the first and second housings such that folding of the first and second housings results in the first and second lateral sides abutting against each other.

An electronic device with a multi-slot antenna is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing including a first side, a second side facing in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and a first lateral side surrounded by a portion of a space between the first and second sides, a second housing including a third side facing in a third direction and a fourth side facing in a fourth direction opposite to the third direction, a first conductive member forming at least a portion of the first lateral side and including a slot, an intermediate plate located inside the first housing and including a portion adjacent to a slot of the first conductive member, wherein the portion comprises or forms an opening facing in the first or second direction, and a wireless communication circuit electrically coupled to a portion of the first conductive member around the slot.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing a second housing, a first display disposed on the first housing and a second display disposed on the second housing, a connecting member configured to couple the first housing to the second housing such that the first housing and the second housing are foldable relative to each other, and the second surface and the fourth surface face each other when the first housing and the second housing are folded toward each other, a first conductive element disposed within the first housing and between the second surface and the first display, and an intermediate conductive plate disposed within the second housing and between the fourth surface and the second display, the intermediate conductive plate having an opening that faces the first conductive element when the first housing and the second housing are in a folded configuration.

An antenna apparatus for a portable terminal which is light, thin, compact, and small. The antenna apparatus preferably includes a main board equipped with a power feeding part for feeding power and a ground surface for grounding the main board and at least one sub-board, each sub-board which has a ground surface and electrically communicates with the main board, wherein the ground surface of each sub-board receives power from the power feeding part of the main board and resonates.

A built-in antenna for an electronic device is provided. The built-in antenna includes a substrate, a 1st antenna radiator with at least two radiating portions, a 2nd antenna radiator, and a switching means. The substrate has a conductive area and a non-conductive area. The 2nd antenna radiator is arranged within the non-conductive area of the substrate and fed by a Radio Frequency (RF) end of the substrate. The 2nd antenna radiator is configured to operate at a band different from at least one operating band of the 1st antenna radiator, and is fed by the RF end in a position adjacent the 1st antenna radiator. The switching means switches to selectively feed the 1st antenna radiator and the 2nd antenna radiator.

An antenna apparatus and an electronic device having the same is provided. The electronic device includes an antenna radiator formed in a loop shape having at least one opening end part opened by a slit, at least a portion of the at least one opening end part is fed, at least one electronic component of metal material electrically connected with the antenna radiator, and at least one metal member arranged around the antenna radiator, where the at least one opening end part is formed in a reverse direction from the direction of the metal member.

Antenna apparatus and electronic device having the same

A portable terminal is provided. The portable terminal includes a main housing, a sub housing, a mainboard, and an electric connector. The main housing has a first antenna radiator. The sub housing is separable from the main housing and has a second antenna radiator. The mainboard is disposed in the main housing and processes a radio signal. The electric connector is disposed in the main housing. When the sub housing and the main housing are separated from each other, the electric connector electrically connects the mainboard with the first antenna radiator of the main housing. When the sub housing and the main housing are coupled, the electric connector electrically connects the mainboard with the second antenna radiator of the sub housing.

A built-in antenna apparatus for a Global Positioning System (GPS) of a portable terminal is provided. The apparatus includes a case frame for forming an exterior of the terminal, a main board fastened by the case frame and having a feeding portion and a ground portion of an antenna radiator, and an antenna radiator having a feeding point and ground point to be electrically connected to the feeding portion and ground portion of the main board, and is curved in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction of the terminal about a center of one upper-side corner of the terminal.
