Provided is an ultrasonic image generating apparatus that may generate an ultrasonic image by using an ultrasonic transducer which has a wideband frequency transfer characteristic or an ultra-wideband frequency transfer characteristic, such as a micromachined ultrasonic transducer (MUT). A pulse generator of the ultrasonic image generating apparatus may generate a first ultrasonic pulse having a first center frequency and a first bandwidth and a second ultrasonic pulse having a second center frequency and a second bandwidth. The ultrasonic transducer may simultaneously transmit the first ultrasonic pulse and the second ultrasonic pulse.

Portable electronic apparatus having a cooling device

A resonator which is capable of modulating frequencies has a main body having a vibrating body and an elastic supporting body supporting the vibrating body and a frequency modulating unit having a movable contacting part that is movable between a first position away from the elastic supporting body and a second position which is contactable with the elastic supporting body. Since there is a variable vibration length of the elastic supporting body during vibration of the vibration body by the contact between the contacting part and the elastic supporting body, it is possible to change the frequency of vibration extracted from the resonator, when it is necessary.

Resonator

A portable apparatus includes an apparatus body including a first main body having therein a plurality of electric parts, and a second main body connected to the first main body to open and close a part of a surface of the first main body; a radiation member mounted in the second main body; and a heat transmitter mounted in the first main body to be connected with the electric parts at one side and contacted with the radiation member when the first main body is opened by operating the second main body. Since the radiation member is mounted to the second main body that does not frequently contact with a user during use of the portable apparatus, cooling of the portable apparatus can be efficiently performed.

Provided is a highly efficient, slim heat transfer apparatus, including a main body connected to an end of a condensing zone through a liquid coolant reservoir. An extension of the main body is connected to the other end of the condensing zone. The main body has a coolant reservoir that stores liquid coolant supplied from the condensing zone, a vaporization zone in which the liquid coolant supplied from the coolant reservoir is vaporized, and a channel region connecting the coolant reservoir to the vaporization zone. The channel region acts as a channel for supplying the liquid coolant from the coolant reservoir to the vaporization zone.

Heat transfer apparatus

A substantially flat heat transferring device and a method of fabricating the same are provided. The device includes a lower plate, an upper plate, a wick plate, and a liquid-phase coolant, while the lower plate contacts a heat source at its bottom. The upper plate is hermetically coupled with the lower plate along its edge to form a void therebetween. The wick plate is provided between the upper plate and the lower plate and is maintained in position relative to the lower plate by surface tension of the liquid-phase coolant. The liquid-phase coolant transfers heat by circulating between a vaporization part, where the heat source is located, to a condensing part. Here, the wick plate includes a plurality of holes and a plurality of planar wicks and makes the liquid-phase coolant flow from the condensing part to the vaporization part by capillary force between itself and the lower plate.

Flat heat transferring device and method of fabricating the same

A microcooling device is provided. The microcooling device includes a substrate, a microchannel array, and a condenser. A predetermined region of a lower surface of the substrate contacts a heat source. The microchannel array is placed on the substrate so that a coolant concentrating portion is opposite to the predetermined region of the lower surface. The condenser fixes the microchannel array, condenses vapor generated in a process of cooling the heat source, and allows the condensed vapor to flow into the microchannel array.

Microcooling device

A flat evaporator is provided. In the evaporator, a common chamber formed on a substrate with a predetermined diameter and depth for containing a coolant is divided into a vaporization cavity region, a capillary region surrounding the vaporization cavity region, and a manifold region surrounding the capillary region. The capillary region has a capillarity generator capable of generating capillary action, and a top plate is configured to include an exhaust unit including a gas collector to exhaust a gas coolant generated in the vaporization cavity region. The evaporator can be implemented as a small and thin cooling device for performing cooling without external power. Furthermore, the evaporator can effectively prevent degradation of fluid flow force due to coexistence of gas and liquid by isolating a liquid coolant from a vaporized coolant by a capillary region, thereby significantly improving heat exchange characteristics.

Flat evaporator

A flat evaporator is provided. In the evaporator, a common chamber formed on a substrate with a predetermined diameter and depth for containing a coolant is divided into a vaporization cavity region, a capillary region surrounding the vaporization cavity region, and a manifold region surrounding the capillary region. The capillary region has a capillarity generator capable of generating capillary action, and a top plate is configured to include an exhaust unit including a gas collector to exhaust a gas coolant generated in the vaporization cavity region. Also, the evaporator includes an auxiliary capillarity generator having a plurality of pins extending towards the center of the vaporization cavity region between the top plate and the substrate. The evaporator can be implemented as a small cooling device for performing cooling without external power. Furthermore, the evaporator can effectively prevent degradation of fluid flow force due to coexistence of gas and liquid by isolating a liquid coolant from a vaporized coolant by a capillary region, thereby significantly improving heat exchange characteristics.

A micro robot includes first and second masses, each having a first contact surface having a first frictional coefficient and a second contact surface having a second frictional coefficient and formed to be inclined by a predetermined angle with respect to the first contact surface, the first and second contact surfaces being formed at the lower portion of the mass corresponding to a surface of a target object, and an actuator provided between the first and second masses for periodically changing the distance between the first and second masses and enabling the first and second contact surfaces of the first and second masses to selectively contact the surface of the target object in synchronization with a periodic change in distance between the first and second masses. Thus, the micro robot is moved by the change in the distance between the masses constituting the micro robot together with the periodic change in friction between each of the masses and the surface of the object on which the micro robot moves, instead of using wheels or caterpillar tracks. Thus, the protective cover can protect the power source.

Micro robot

A plate type condenser used in a cooling system is provided. The plate type condenser includes a casing for defining an upper space into which a gaseous refrigerant flows and is cooled, a lower space for accommodating a liquid refrigerant into which the gaseous refrigerant is condensed, and a connecting portion through which the upper and lower spaces communicate with each other. The casing substantially has a plate shape. A refrigerant inlet is installed at an upper portion of the casing to communicate with the upper space. A refrigerant outlet is installed at a lower portion of the casing to communicate with the lower space. A first adiabatic slit for separating the walls of the casing is formed between the upper space and the lower space except at the connecting portion. Accordingly, since the first adiabatic slit prevents heat in the upper space from being conducted to the lower space through the walls of the casing, a liquid refrigerant in the lower space can be satisfactorily cooled without using an additional subcooler.
