A recording condition and a dubbing condition of a desired program that is to be broadcast are designated by using a remote controller. These conditions are stored in the information storage unit. In accordance with the recording condition, a controller permits a tuner to receive a program for which unattended recording is designated, and to record the program on an HDD. When a DVD is set in a dubbing unit and the dubbing operation is instructed by using the remote controller, a recorded program for which a dubbing condition stored in the information storage unit is applied can be dubbed. Then, the information for this program is displayed on a monitor so as to confirm the program and the dubbing condition, and to examine or correct CM skip if the CM skip is included in the dubbing condition. Thereafter, the dubbing operation is performed.

Recorder equipped with dubbing function

A disk cartridge is provided in which if the width of the disk cartridge is W1 and the outside diameter of the disk is D1, then W1 is about the same as D1. Inside the disk cartridge is a disk space in which the disk can rotate. A movement restricting portion restricts movement of the disk in the direction parallel with a disk surface. A cutout that extends through into the disk space is provided in part of a surface forming the width of the disk cartridge. A protrusion is provided in the surface adjacent to the surface in which the cutout is provided and at a position near the cutout.

Disk cartridge

A magnetic tape recording and reproducing plug-in unit including a case with a front plate having an insertion opening through which a magnetic tape cassette is inserted, a bottom plate, a top plate, and a pair of side plates each formed with a pair of guide slots arranged for guiding the cassette to a loading position. The slide plates are attached to the side plates so as to be slidable within the case, each slide plate formed with a pair of cam slots arranged for moving the cassette to the loading position. A cassette holder is disposed inside the pair of slide plates for holding the cassette and has pins extending through the cam slots into the guide slots of the side plates. A recording and reproducing device is mounted on the bottom plate. A driving device drives the slide plates. An electronic circuit is disposed at the rear of the recording and reproducing device. Each of the guide slots has a horizontal guide slot portion extending depthwise and a vertical guide slot portion extending downward from the horizontal guide slot portion. Each of the cam slots has a horizontal cam slot portion extending depthwise and an oblique cam slot portion extending obliquely upwards from a rear end of the horizontal cam slot portion.

Magnetic tape recording and reproducing plug-in unit

A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus comprises a main chassis on which a cylinder having a rotary magnetic head attached thereto is mounted, a subchassis which is supported on the main chassis so as to be movable toward and away from the cylinder and on which reel mounts are mounted for engagement with reels of a magnetic tape cassette, a driving motor, tape guide members serving to form a predetermined path through which a magnetic tape moves so as to be wound around the cylinder, a pinch roller which cooperates with a capstan to hold the magnetic tape therebetween so as to move the magnetic tape in a predetermined direction, brakes for applying predetermined rotational loads to the reel mounts, operation members for operating the pinch roller and/or brakes, cam members for imparting a predetermined displacement to the operation members, and transmission members for transmitting the driving force from the driving motor to the cam members, wherein at least the driving motor, the brake members, as well as the transmission members, cam members and operation members which are associated with the brake members, respectively, are mounted on the subchassis.

Magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus

A plurality of tape guides are moved to wind a magnetic tape on a rotatable cylinder when the magnetic tape is to be loaded. An auxiliary guide mounted on a chassis of a magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus in position is made to touch the magnetic tape during a period for which the magnetic tape is being loaded, but it does not touch the magnetic tape when the magnetic tape has been loaded. The auxiliary guide can be protruded toward the magnetic tape from between the tape guides moving to touch the magnetic tape during the period for which the magnetic tape is being loaded so that the magnetic tape can be kept to a predetermined span.

Tape loading mechanism for magnetic recording and/or reproducing

A tape guide mechanism for a VTR includes a pair of first guides disposed respectively at a tape entrance side and a tape exit side of a cylinder and positioned immediately adjacent to the cylinder, a pair of second guides disposed adjacent to the pair of first guides, respectively, and a third guide provided in a path of travel of a tape extending between the first guides and the second guides, so as to prevent opposed surfaces of the tape, disposed respectively at the tape entrance side and the tape exit side, from being contacted with each other. The third guide may be of a rotary type and be disposed more remote from the cylinder than the first guides.

Tape loading mechanism for magnetic recording and reproducing devices

A helical scanning type of magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus in which a first entrance-side tape height regulation guide is disposed in a level higher than a center of a plane of rotation of magnetic heads mounted on a rotary drum assembly when the magnetic tape is loaded on the rotary drum assembly, and a first exit-side tape height regulation guide is disposed in a level lower than the center of the plane of rotation of the magnetic heads. The rotary drum assembly is disposed in a higher position such that its upper end is in the same level as an upper end of a lid of a tape cassette. The cassette is disposed at a lever lower than that of the first exit-side tape height regulation guide. The first entrance-side and the first exit-side tape height regulation guides are driven by a loading ring inclined towards the cassette so as to move while engaging with the magnetic tape during loading or unloading. A capstan motor is accommodated in a space formed between the inclined loading ring and a main chassis. This construction enables reductions in the overall thickness and the weight of the apparatus.

Since the magnetic tape is turned down with an acute angle at one end of the detecting area, the detecting arm can fully detect the change of the tension.
