Apparatuses, systems, and methods of wireless power transmission/reception are described. In one wireless power transmission/reception device, a planar resonator capable of generating magnetic fields has one or more ferrite members mounted thereon such that the magnetic fields generated by the planar resonator have an overall direction substantially tilted or parallel to its opening/face, i.e., to the plane of the planar resonator. In a wireless power reception device, the planar resonator generates magnetic fields and an induced current when being resonated by external magnetic fields; in a wireless power transmission device, the planar resonator generates magnetic fields when being supplied with power.

A wireless power transmitter and a method for detecting a change in load during wireless charging in the wireless power transmitter is provided. Provided is a near field wireless communication apparatus that uses magnetic coupling and a method for operation of the apparatus, in which the magnetic coupling is used to transmit data or clock information with low power and high efficiency. A pulse generator of the near field wireless communication apparatus generates a pulse signal corresponding to transmission digital data to be transmitted. When the transmission digital data is '1,' the near field wireless communication apparatus modulates the data into the pulse signal and transmits the pulse signal. When the data is '0,' the near field wireless communication apparatus does not output the pulse.

Disclosed is a land grid array module comprising: a substrate; a plurality of active and passive components mounted on both sides of the substrate; and a molding compound for encapsulating the both sides of the substrate with the active and passive components mounted thereon. The land grid array module mounts the passive and active components on both sides of the substrate, thereby improving the integration of the circuit device. Also, the use of a thin film printed circuit board or a flexible printed circuit board with high rigidity as the substrate reduces the overall thickness of the land grid array module.

A vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) module includes a substrate provided with an etched region formed on a lower surface thereof, a plurality of layers, for photoproduction, laminated on an upper surface of the substrate, and a VCSEL for emitting the light upwards and downwards, wherein the VCSEL module monitors the output of the VCSEL by detecting the light emitted downwards from the VCSEL.

A coupling structure for coupling an optical waveguide and an optical device is provided. The coupling structure enables to precisely align the optical waveguide and the optical device so that an optical-alignment error can be reduced within a range of a few &#x3bc;m. Coupling structure for optical waveguide and optical device and optical alignment method by using the same

A vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) is provided with an aperture for guiding a flow of electric currents. The aperture is defined by an oxide so that the aperture is formed to be substantially circular in shape. A method for fabricating the laser is also disclosed. The structure of the (VCSEL) makes it possible to control the oxidation rates of an oxidable layer in which an aperture is formed for guiding the flow of electric currents of a VCSEL, by forming a mesa trench of the VCSEL in a segmented structure which has a predetermined number of segments. Accordingly, it is possible to form an aperture approximately in a circular shape, so that the light emitting angle and shape of the VCSEL are easily controlled.
