The image display apparatus may include: a display; and a processor configured to control the display to display a pointer at a preset area of a screen when a position to which a remote control apparatus directs is outside of the screen of the display, to move the pointer into the screen to correspond to a movement amount of the position and display the pointer, and to display the pointer at the position to which the remote control apparatus directs.

The display device comprises: a storage unit for storing control code sets corresponding to each of a plurality of remote controllers; a communication unit for receiving a first remote controller signal from a remote controller capable of controlling an external device; and a processor implementing controlling for automatically detecting a control code set corresponding to the remote controller from among the stored control code sets, on the basis of the received first remote controller signal, and transmitting the detected control code set to an integrated remote controller.
