Apparatus and a method for improving image quality in an image sensor, where a black level of a photographed image is calibrated and luminance of an image signal is expanded within the allowable range of luminance through knee correction for the image signal in which the black level is calibrated. Interpolation for restoring a dead pixel may be achieved before gamma correction for image signal.

An optical device for a camera including a lens array for focusing incident optical signals, a window glass positioned in front of the lens array to prevent alien substances from contacting the lens array, and a barrel for retaining the lenses of the lens array, wherein each lens of the lens array is coated with multi-layered thin films to suppress respective reflection waves of incident optical signals having different wavelengths, and of such a thickness that causes the phase of reflection waves reflected through the thin films to be the inverse of the phase of reflection waves reflected at the surface of the lens.

According to this, when used at a DTV production field where a test pattern is used or at a broadcasting system which repeatedly transmits the DTV stream of a limited length such as a stationary image, a reliability of the DTV receiver test can be ensured.
