The present invention relates to: a muscular atrophy-inducing agent containing, as an active ingredient, a hypometabolism-inducing substance selected from the group consisting of 3-iodothyronamine (T1AM), [D-Ala2,D-Leu5] enkephalin (DADLE), 5'-adenosine monophosphate (5&#x2032;-AMP), and hydrogen sulfide (HS); a method for preparing a muscular atrophy study model comprising inducing muscular atrophy by administering the muscular atrophy-inducing agent; a study model prepared by the method; a screening method for a drug for preventing or treating muscular atrophy using the same; a composition for preventing or treating muscular hypertrophy; and a composition for facial muscle shrinkage. The muscular atrophy study model according to the present invention can provide a study model for an economic muscular atrophy study by using a hypometabolism-inducing substance which can be mass-produced, has an effect which may be usefully used by verification for screening of a drug for preventing or treating muscular atrophy, and can be usefully used as a compositions for preventing or treating muscular hypertrophy and a composition for facial muscle shrinkage through the muscular atrophy effect.

Muscular atrophy-inducing agent using hypometabolism-inducing substance T1AM, and use thereof in treating muscular hypertrophy

The present invention relates to a novel function of Msx1 protein for inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and metastasis by targeting mTOR (mammalian target of rapamycin) signaling pathway, and for treating a cancer in a subject. Particularly, Msx1 suppresses mTOR through a direct interaction with mTOR, resulting in the inhibition of angiogenesis. The Msx1 significantly suppresses tumor angiogenesis that is necessary for the growth, invasion, and metastasis of solid tumors. Ad-Msx1 can be used to effectively inhibit tumor metastasis by suppressing angiogenesis, tumor cell invasion, and migration.

Agent that inhibits angiogenesis and metastasis targeting mTOR signaling pathway

The present invention relates to a novel use of Msx1 protein or a nucleotide encoding the same for inducing apoptosis. The Msx1 of the present invention induces apoptosis through direct interaction with p53 via a homeodomain and such interaction leads to increased stability, and/or nuclear localization of p53 in cells. The Msx1 or homeodomain thereof can be effectively used for the treatment of tumors, in which wild-type p53 protein has lost its function by some mechanism that inactivates p53 proteins.
