Disclosed is a living body measurement apparatus including: a first light source placed on the surface of the skin in a living body and radiating a first light in a visible light wavelength range onto the surface of the skin; a second light source placed on the surface of the skin and radiating a second light in a near-infrared wavelength range onto the surface of the skin; an optical detector placed on the surface of the skin at a predetermined distance from the first and second light sources to detect, as an electric signal, first or second detection light penetrating up through the skin and inputted thereto among the radiated first or second light; and a controller for sequentially driving the first and second light sources.

A keypad backlighting device includes a light source having an emission chip and a fluorescent material applied to the emission chip. The emission chip and the fluorescent material interact with each other and generate white light. The light source can realize white light by means of interaction between the emission chip and the fluorescent material applied thereto. This improves the reproduction properties of the backlight color of the keypad. In addition, the device has an elastic pad configured for guiding light from the light source to key tops attached to the pad. This reduces the number of light sources and saves on the cost of manufacturing.

In the optical waveguide element, optical signals passing through the first dummy waveguide gradually disappear while passing through the reflector and the second dummy waveguide, thereby improving a bi-directional cross-talk.

The optical demultiplexer has first and second waveguides arranged adjacent each other in a predetermined section in order to perform mode coupling, so that the optical signals input through one end of the first waveguide are transmitted to a light receiving element through the second waveguide, and in which output light waves inputted through the other end of the first waveguide are output through the one end of the first waveguide. A first Bragg diffraction grating is formed on the second waveguide and haa wavelength selectivity, for minimizing crosstalk by transmitting a reception wavelength of the optical signals at about 100% and by reflecting a wavelength of the output light waves at about 100%.

A dual-band wavelength division multiplexer is disclosed. The multiplexer includes a first and a second slab waveguide, a plurality of channel waveguides connecting the first slab waveguide to the second slab waveguide, an input part connected to the first slab waveguide, and an output part connected to the second slab waveguide. The input part includes an input waveguide for receiving an optical signal from an exterior, and a wavelength division multiplexing filter connected to the input waveguide, for outputting an optical signal in a first band to a first connecting waveguide, and outputting an optical signal in a second band to a second connecting waveguide. The input part also includes a first mode converter connected to the wavelength division multiplexing filter through the first connecting waveguide, for mode-converting the inputted optical signal in the first band and a second mode converter connected to the wavelength division multiplexing filter through the second connecting waveguide, for mode-converting the inputted optical signal in the second band. An output mode of the first mode converter has a width different from that of an output mode of the second mode converter.

Dual-band wavelength division multiplexer

A bidirectional optical triplexer is disclosed, which may be connected to an external optical waveguide and receives first and second optical signals having first and second wavelengths through the external optical waveguide, and transmits a third optical signal having a third wavelength. The triplexer includes a platform having first and second trenches spaced from each other on a first optical path optically connected with the external optical waveguide, a first filter positioned in the first trench for reflecting the first optical signal proceeding through the first optical path to a second optical path, and a second filter positioned in the second trench for reflecting the second optical signal proceeding through the first optical path to a third optical path. The triplexer also includes a first optical receiver for detecting the first optical signal proceeding through the second optical path, a second optical receiver for detecting the second optical signal proceeding through the third optical path, and an optical transmitter for outputting the third optical signal to the first optical path. The first and the second optical receiver may be aligned at a first side of the first and the second trenches and the optical transmitter may be aligned at a second side of the first and the second trenches. The first side is opposite to the second side about the first and second trenches.
