A pixel for a display panel includes an organic light emitting diode and two driving transistors. The first driving transistor supplies current from a first power source to the organic light emitting diode based on a voltage applied to a first node. The second driving transistor coupled between an electrode of the first driving transistor and the organic light emitting diode. The second driving transistor is turned on or turned off corresponding to a data signal supplied from a data line. A third transistor, coupled between a gate electrode of the second driving transistor and the data line, is turned on when a scan signal is supplied to a scan line. A compensation circuit is coupled to the first node to compensate for a voltage corresponding to a threshold voltage of the first driving transistor.

Pixel and organic light emitting display device using the same

The organic light emitting display device, including: a pixel unit configured to display an image corresponding to a data signal, a scan signal, a first power, and a second power; a data driver configured to receive an image signal to output the data signal; a scan driver configured to output the scan signal; a power supply unit configured to receive an input power from an external source to generate the first power and the second power; and a controller configured to output a voltage control signal to control a voltage of the first power and a voltage of the second power and output a first gamma value and a second gamma value in accordance with a voltage of the input power, the first and second gamma values being for controlling a voltage of the data signal.

Organic light emitting display device and driving method for the same

A light emitting display is configured to reduce or prevent motion blur by shortening a time that a black frame is displayed between image frames. One embodiment includes display region, a data driver, a scan driver, and a controller. The display region displays frames of images according to a data signal and a scan signal. The data driver transmits data for displaying first frames and second (black) frames between the first frames. The scan driver includes first and second scan driving circuits for transmitting scan signals, and a switch unit for selectively coupling the first and second scan driving circuits. The scan driver transmits scan signals sequentially during the first frames and transmits scan signals to at least two of the scan lines concurrently by driving the first and second scan driving circuits in parallel during the second frames. The controller transmits a driving control signal to control the switch.

The gamma control data mapping circuit is for converting input data into grayscale data to display an original image on a display device. The mapping circuit separates the input data into high-order bit data and low-order bit data, and outputs a low-order grayscale boundary and a high-order grayscale boundary by using the high-order bit data. The gamma control data mapping circuit divides a grayscale region defined by the low-order grayscale boundary and the high-order grayscale boundary by a unit grayscale number to calculate unit grayscale data of the grayscale region, multiplies the low-order bit data by the unit grayscale data to calculate linear grayscale data, and adds the low-order grayscale boundary to the linear grayscale data to generate the grayscale data.

A stacked structure of a display device is capable of preventing conductive noise due to signal interference by isolating analog and digital output stages and a ground stage onto different layers. A driving device of an organic light emitting display has a scan driver for applying a plurality of scan signals, a data driver for applying a plurality of data signals, and a controller for providing a gradation voltage to the data driver and a scan signal to the scan driver. The stacked structure includes a ground layer, an analog signal-transmission layer for transmitting an analog signal, a digital signal-transmission layer for transmitting a digital signal and a power supply transmission layer for transmitting a power supply voltage. Each of the layers is formed on a different layer. Further, the stacked structure further includes a first mounting layer at a front of the structure on which circuits are mounted and a second mounting layer at a rear thereof on which circuits are mounted. The stacked structure further includes insulating layers formed between the respective layers to insulate the layers.

An organic EL display device for compensating for a reduction of the voltage between the gate and source of a driving transistor occurring due to a voltage drop of the source voltage caused by the resistance component of a power source line, and a method for driving the organic EL display device. The organic EL display device has a data driver for receiving digital image data and applying the digital image data and a data voltage corresponding to the position of a pixel circuit. The data driver outputs different data voltages depending on the position of the pixel circuit even when the same digital image data are received. When the driving transistor is a P-type transistor, the data driver applies a higher data voltage to a pixel circuit that is closer to an external voltage source than that applied to a farther one even when the same digital data are received. When the driving transistor is an N-type transistor, the data driver applies a lower data voltage to a pixel circuit that is closer to an external voltage source than that applied to a farther one even when the same digital data are received.

Organic electroluminescent (EL) display device and method for driving the same

A power supply device supplying power to a data driver of a light emission display device. The power supply device includes: an external reference voltage supply supplying an external reference voltage; a reference voltage generator converting external power into a regulated direct current (DC) reference voltage and outputs the regulated DC reference voltage when the external power is changed. A reference voltage selector selects one of the reference voltages output from the external reference voltage supply and the reference voltage generator and outputs a selected reference voltage. A voltage converter converts the regulated reference voltage output from the reference voltage selector into a plurality of internal DC power sources to be supplied to the drivers.
