Provided is a flame-retardant polyarylate resin and a composition thereof, and more particularly, a polyarylate resin prepared by co-polymerizing 4,4'-dihydroxyphenylacetylene (DHPA), phthaloyl chloride (PC) and bishydroxyphenol (BHP) and a composition of the polyarylate resin. The polyarylate resin has lower heat release capacity than a conventional resin or a resin containing a halogen-based flame-retardant, is environmentally friendly, does not produce toxic materials, and has more excellent flame-retardancy than a conventional halogen-based flame-retardant and a flame-retardant resin. In addition, the polyarylate resin has excellent processibility and compatibility due to high solubility in a commonly used industrial solvent and has excellent thermal stability due to a high molecular weight.

Fire-retardant polyarylate resin containing dihydroxyphenylacetylene and compositions thereof

The present invention relates to 2-(5-isoxazolinylmethyloxyphenyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-indazole derivatives of formula 1, their preparation method and their use as herbicides. As the compounds have excellent herbicidal activity against paddy weeds comprising ECHOR, SCPJU, MOOVA, CYPSE and SAGPY, and better selectivity, the compounds of the present invention are typically useful as herbicides for control of paddy weeds in conditions with seeded rice and transferred rice.

Herbicidal 2-(5-isoxazolinyl methyloxyphenyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro -2H-indazole derivatives

The present invention relates to novel cyclohexane-1-3-dione derivatives of formula (1) useful as herbicides and plant-growth regulants, ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl, nitro, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylthio, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylsulfinyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylsulfonyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 sulfamoyl, and N, N-di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl)sulfamoyl group; (X)n represents the number of X substituents which may be substituted on benzene ring, wherein n is 1, 2 or 3. Also, cyclohexyl moiety, one of the substituents on benzofuran ring, is substituted at C-4, C-5, C-6 or C-7 position on benzene ring; R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl group; R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl and C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkynyl group; R.sup.3 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkenyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkoxyalkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkylthioalkyl, benzyl and C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkanoyl group; R.sup.4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkali metal cation, alkaline earth metal cation, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkanoyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkanoyl and benzoyl group.
