Provided is a fuel cell system for a vehicle, the fuel cell system including a fuel cell stack provided in a vehicle, an air duct including an air inflow path through which air is introduced, and an air outflow path through which the air is discharged to the fuel cell stack, and an air inlet/outlet flow path having one end connected to the air duct and the other end exposed to the outside of the air duct, the air inlet/outlet flow path being configured to allow the air to selectively enter or exit the air duct depending on an operation of the fuel cell stack, thereby obtaining an advantageous effect of improving safety, reliability, operational efficiency, and durability by inhibiting unnecessary surplus power generation of the fuel cell stack.

An air shut-off valve apparatus for a fuel cell system is provided. An air foil bearing assembly is provided. The air foil bearing assembly includes a bearing housing that has a hollow into which a rotary shaft is fitted and a slot of which both ends are open toward front and rear sides formed on an inner circumference surface of the hollow. In particular, a portion of air from an outlet of a compressor to an inlet of the compressor is recirculated to the supply of air supplied from the compressor to a stack. This recirculated air and external air introduced from the outside are mixed and supplied to the inlet of the compressor at a sufficiently high air pressure, allowing the compressor to avoid a surge region and enabling the supply of air with a high pressure and a low flow rate.

Air supply apparatus and method for fuel cell

A structure of a fuel cell system and a controlling method thereof are provided. The structure of the fuel cell system includes a flow sensor that is configured to detect a flow of air introduced into the fuel cell system and an air compressor that is configured to compress the introduced air and has an air foil bearing to maintain minimum driving revolutions per minute or greater. Additionally, the system includes a flow adjuster that is connected to the fuel cell system. Accordingly, since an amount of air corresponding to a required amount of air of the fuel cell system is supplied by limiting or recirculating an excessive air supply while securing durability and durability of abrasion of the air compressor to which the air foil bearing is applied, a dry phenomenon of the fuel cell system including a stack due to the excessive supply of air is prevented.

A thrust bearing includes: a thrust plate in a disc shape having an outer diameter and an inner diameter formed by perforating a central portion of the thrust plate; a plurality of bump foils disposed radially on a top surface of the thrust plate; a plurality of top foils in a panel shape covering each of the bump foils, where bottom surfaces of the top foils are in contact with upper ends of the bump foils; and metal blocks radially disposed on the top surface of the thrust plate and formed to be spaced apart from the bump foils. The thrust bearing can be included in an air compressor of a vehicle.
