A navigation apparatus can be configured to be installed in a vehicle, including a display; a wireless communication unit; and a controller operatively connected to the display and configured to receive a first destination from a mobile terminal for controlling the navigation apparatus, display route information from an origination position to the first destination received from the mobile terminal, display, on the display of the navigation apparatus, when a current position of the navigation apparatus is within a preset range of the destination, a message inquiring whether or not the first destination is a final destination, receive a new destination after an input indicating that the first destination point is not the final destination, and display, on the display of the navigation apparatus, road guidance information from the current position to the new destination point.

Navigation apparatus and method

A navigation configured to be installed in a motor vehicle, and a corresponding method. According to an embodiment, there is a method that includes: a) reproducing video information corresponding to a straight section included in the route information at a speed faster than a typical reproduction speed; and b) reproducing video information corresponding to a curved section included in the route information at a speed slower than the typical reproduction speed.

A portable terminal includes a circuit board having edge and component mounting surfaces. The edge surface includes a first contact terminal and an antenna includes a second contact terminal. The component mounting surface is at least substantially parallel with a display screen of the terminal and the edge surface is at least substantially perpendicular to the display screen. The first and second contact terminals are coupled together to establish an electrical connection between the circuit board and antenna when the antenna and edge surface are mounted in parallel to one another within a housing of the terminal.

A navigation method and apparatus of a mobile terminal capture an image of a road on which a driver is driving a vehicle if the road is a new road which has not been updated on map data, automatically generates guidance information of the captured road, and provide a user preference route in searching a route from a current location to a destination to thereby enhance user satisfaction. The navigation apparatus of a mobile terminal includes a storage unit configured to store map data, a display unit configured to display a route from a current location to a destination on the map data, and a controller configured to store locus information of a vehicle in real time when the vehicle gets off of the route and gives a weight value to a link corresponding to the locus information.
