A rotating electrical machine includes a stator having a stator core, coil groups, and a rotor. The coil groups include a first coil group located at an outer circumference side of the stator core and a second coil group located at an inner circumference side of the stator core. The first and second coil groups are formed into an annular shape by inserting unit coils into stator core slots so that the coils adjacent in a circumferential direction overlap alternately in a radial direction and so that an inside and an outside of the overlap alternate with each other. The first coil group is disposed to surround an outside of the second coil group. The first and second coil groups are disposed in a concentric manner. The unit coils constituting the second coil group have shorter circumferential lengths than the unit coils constituting the first coil group.

Rotating electrical machine and method of manufacturing the same

A small power generating system includes a turbine driven by a fluid, a small high-speed rotation power generator including a permanent magnet rotor having a permanent magnet and rotated together with the turbine and a plurality of stator coils each of which is comprised of a coreless coil, the rotor being rotated such that voltage is induced on the stator coils, whereby power is generated by the power generator, and a back yoke disposed at one of two opposed sides of the stator coils which is opposed to the other side thereof further confronting the permanent magnet of the rotor, the back yoke being made of a magnetic material with a predetermined electrical resistance.

Power generating system

A control device for a permanent magnet motor serving as both a starter for an engine and a generator in a motor vehicle is disclosed. The control device includes a drive circuit converting a direct current to an alternating current to supply the alternating current to the permanent magnet motor, the drive circuit having at least one arm including two series connected first switching elements having flywheel diodes respectively, the drive circuit having an input terminal connected to a capacitor and an output terminal connected to the permanent magnet motor, a chopper circuit including a plurality of series connected second switching elements having diodes connected in parallel with the second switching elements respectively, the chopper circuit being disposed at the battery side and connected in parallel with the capacitor, a reactor connected between a neutral point of the chopper circuit and the battery, and a control for controlling the switching elements of the drive circuit and chopper circuit so that the switching elements are turned on and off.
