A hermetically sealed battery includes a battery can having a bottomed cylindrical shape and an opening, an electrode body accommodated in the battery can, a sealing plate covering the opening of the battery can, a rivet disposed on the sealing plate and serving as a terminal, an insulator insulates the sealing plate from the rivet, and an internal lead electrically connected to the rivet. The insulator includes a sealing part sealing between the sealing plate and the rivet and a plate part closer to the electrode body than the sealing part, the plate part being extended in a radial direction of the electrode body. The plate part has a cut-away portion recessed in a periphery of the plate part in the radial direction. The internal lead is partially disposed in the cut-away portion.

Hermetically sealed battery

A lithium primary battery including a current collecting wire that electrically connects an electrode body and a sealing body or a battery can, in which the electrode body includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator, the negative electrode includes at least one selected from the group consisting of metal lithium and a lithium alloy, the current collecting wire includes a first lead connected to one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode, a second lead connected to the sealing body or the battery can, and an overdischarge suppressing element interposed between the first lead and the second lead, the overdischarge suppressing element includes a first metal layer connected to the first lead, with the first metal layer being thinner than the first lead, a second metal layer connected to the second lead, with the second metal layer being thinner than the second lead, and a conductive layer interposed between the first metal layer and the second metal layer disposed to face each other, the conductive layer includes a resin and a conductive material dispersed in the resin, and the conductive material inserts lithium ions at a potential that is lower than that of the positive electrode.

Lithium primary battery

A lithium primary battery includes a wound electrode body obtained by winding a sheet-like positive electrode, a sheet-like negative electrode, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The positive electrode includes manganese dioxide as a positive electrode active material. The negative electrode includes at least one selected from the group consisting of metallic lithium and lithium alloys, and has a first principal surface and a second principal surface opposite to the first principal surface. An entire surface of each of the first principal surface and the second principal surface faces the positive electrode. A total area of the first principal surface and the second principal surface is 100 cmor more and 180 cmor less.
