The present disclosure provides a refrigerator operation control method capable of accurately recognizing whether an abnormal situation occurs as well as determining a defrosting time using an identified rotation speed of a blowing fan.

Operation control method for refrigerator

A refrigerator includes a flow path exit of a fluid introduction part and a flow path entrance of the frost detection duct that have a same size. Thus, defrost water flowing down into the fluid introduction part through a guide flow path may more efficiently flow downward without becoming stagnant and freezing of the stagnant water may be prevented.

A refrigerator is configured such that a controller may control the frost detecting operation to be differently performed on the basis of at least one of a room temperature and a set reference temperature. Thus, precise frosting detection may be performed and power consumption due to the frosting detection may be minimized, and power consumption efficiency may be improved.

A refrigerator includes a first heater, a second heater, and a third heater, and the third heater is located inside a frost detection flow path and generates heat. Accordingly, during a defrosting operation, the inside of the frost detection flow path may be prevented from being blocked. Or freezing of the frost check sensor provided in the frost detection flow path may be prevented.

A refrigerator includes an ice dispenser with a duct cap for opening and closing an ice duct of the dispenser. A user operated lever is operably coupled to both the duct cap, and a joint member. A frictional member is disposed to come in frictional contact with the joint member as the duct cap moves between open and closed position. An elastic member elastically supports the joint member with respect to the lever. The closing operation of the duct cap is delayed by using a frictional force developed between the joint member and the frictional member.

A dispenser for a refrigerator is provided. The dispenser may include a cover which opens or shuts an opening of a duct that guides contents from an interior of the refrigerator to the dispenser for discharge. An actuator transmits an externally applied force to the cover to cause the cover to move and selectively open and shut the opening. A regulator controls action of the actuator to adjust movement of the cover.

A refrigerator is provided which includes a duct cap disposed so as to open and close an ice duct formed in the refrigerator, an opening and closing device connected so as to open and close the duct cap, and a damper connected to one of the duct cap and the opening and closing device such that a closing operation of the duct cap is delayed. The opening and closing device allows the duct cap to be manually opened and closed, and the damper is interlocked with the opening and closing device so as to delay a closing operation of the duct cap. With this structure, cost may be reduced and noise and/or vibration minimized, compared with mechanisms with the closing operation of the duct cap delayed using electric driving parts, such as solenoids.

An ice dispenser has a duct cap and a controller to control movement of the duct cap. The controller includes a guide, a first control surface, and a second control surface. A first frictional force between the guide and the first control surface is greater than a second frictional force between the guide and the second control surface. The first frictional force controls the duct cap to move at a first rate and the second friction force controls the duct cap to move at a second rate faster than the first rate.

A cool air supply duct of a refrigerator includes a vertical duct unit installed in a freezing chamber or a refrigerating chamber of the refrigerator so that the length of the vertical duct unit can be adjusted in the vertical direction; and horizontal duct units installed on the vertical duct unit so that the length of the horizontal duct unit can be adjusted in the horizontal direction and provided with cool air discharge holes formed therethrough for discharging cool air. Since the cool air discharge holes are changed to positions desired by a user, the cool air supply duct cools a designated space of the freezing chamber or the refrigerating chamber of the refrigerator to a temperature lower or higher than those of other spaces, thus increasing convenience in using the cool air supply duct and improving the cooling efficiency of the cool air supply duct.

A refrigerator with an ice dispenser includes a spiral type time delay unit for controlling the opening and closing of an ice duct. A duct cap opens and closes an ice duct formed in the refrigerator. A rotating shaft of the time delay unit is operably connected to the duct cap. Foldaway catching members on a rotating shaft intersect with a threaded cylindrical body. The catching members fold back to allow a quick opening of the ice duct. The catching members then interact with the threaded cylindrical body as the ice duct closes to delay the closing process.
