An adhesive resin composition including a propylene polymer (A), an ethylene polymer (B), and a thermoplastic resin (C) including a copolymer containing not less than 60 mol % and not more than 99 mol % of structural units derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene, and not less than 1 mol % and not more than 40 mol % of structural units derived from a C2-C20 α-olefin other than 4-methyl-1-pentene, these structural units representing total 100 mol % of the copolymer, the thermoplastic resin (C) showing a melting point Tm of not more than 199° C. or showing substantially no melting point as analyzed with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The total of the components (A), (B) and (C) includes 45 to 75 parts by mass of the component (A), 5 to 20 parts by mass of the component (B), and 15 to 45 parts by mass of the component (C).

Adhesive resin compositions and laminates

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a laminate having sufficient delamination prevention performance and simultaneously having an inorganic layer surface imparted with brightness. The laminate of the present invention is a laminate having a polyolefin-based resin layer, a layer for deposition and an inorganic layer in this order, wherein the layer for deposition includes a composition (P) for a layer for deposition and polypropylene (D), the composition (P) for a layer for deposition is obtained by melt-kneading 30 to 85% by weight of isotactic polypropylene (A) and 70 to 15% by weight of a propylene-based copolymer (B), a part or all of the isotactic polypropylene (A) and/or the propylene-based copolymer (B) has been graft-modified with a graft monomer (C), and the propylene-based copolymer (B) contains 45 to 89% by mol of constituent units derived from propylene and 11 to 55% by mol of constituent units derived from at least one &#x3b1;-olefin selected from ethylene and &#x3b1;-olefins of 4 to 20 carbon atoms.

Laminate, packaging material using the same and production process for the same

To provide a propylene-based copolymer and a propylene-based copolymer composition, each of which has a high melt tension because it has a long-chain branched structure, exhibits excellent molding processability during molding, such as inflation molding, extrusion molding, blow molding, injection molding or vacuum forming, and is capable of favorably providing a foamed product having an excellent expansion ratio and excellent cell uniformity in the foaming stage. The propylene-based copolymer (A) of the present invention comprises 50 to 95% by mol of constituent units [i] derived from propylene, 4.9 to 49.9% by mol of constituent units [ii] derived from an &#x3b1;-olefin of 2 to 10 carbon atoms other than propylene and 0.1 to 10% by mol of constituent units [iii] derived from a non-conjugated polyene (with the proviso that the total amount of the constituent units [i], [ii] and [iii] is 100% by mol), and is characterized by satisfying specific requirements (a) and (c).

Propylene-based copolymer, propylene-based copolymer composition, molded product thereof and foamed product thereof, and production process therefor

The foamed laminate based on olefin according to the present invention is composed of a substrate layer of a foamed body made of either an ethylenic thermoplastic elastomer comprising a polyethylene resin and an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer having a Mooney viscosity ML(100&#xb0; C.) of 90-250 and an ethylene content of 70-95 mole % or an ethylenic thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising 100 parts by weight of an olefinic thermoplastic elastomer and 1-20 parts by weight of an olefinic thermoplastic resin and, under lamination thereon, a skin layer made of either an ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin resin having an intrinsic viscosity of 3.5-8.3 dl/g or made of an olefinic thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising an olefinic thermoplastic elastomer and a lubricant. The foamed laminate according to the present invention is easy in recycled use, obtainable at a high foaming expansion ratio with soft hand touch and is superior in the appearance, abrasion resistance, durability and sliding performance.

Layered product olefin foam and use

An olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition which is superior in the resistance to oils, heat resistance, formability and flexibility is provided, said elestomer composition comprising the components (A) 40&#x2013;90 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin having a melt flow rate (determined at 230 &#xb0; C. under a load of 2.16 kg according to ASTM D 1238) of 0.1&#x2013;5 g/10 minutes, (B) 10&#x2013;60 parts by weight of a copolymer rubber based on olefin, the contents of the components (A) and (B) summing up to 100 parts by weight, and (C) 20&#x2013;150 parts by weight of a softener, wherein the composition is in such a cross-linked state that the gel content thereof amounts to 97% by weight or higher.

Thermoplastic olefin elastomer composition

An olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition comprises a crystalline polyolefin resin (A) and an ethylene/&agr;-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber (B), and optionally a softener (C) and/or an inorganic filler (D), in a specific ratio. The copolymer rubber (B) is prepared by the use of a metallocene catalyst and comprises ethylene, an &agr;-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms and a nonconjugated polyene. This composition ca provide molded products of more excellent tensile strength, elongation at break, elastomeric properties (elongation set, permanent compression set, etc.), heat resistance and low-temperature properties than the conventional non-crosslinked olefin thermoplastic elastomers, even if the composition is in the non-crosslinked form. The composition in the partially or completely crosslinked form can provided molded products of more excellent low-temperature properties, tensile strength, elongation at break and elastomeric properties than the conventional vulcanized rubbers.

Olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising crystalline polyolefin resin and ethylene/&agr;-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber

The present invention relates to an olefinic thermoplastic elastomer composition which comprises a crystalline polyolefin resin (A), an ethylene-&agr;-olefin-non-conjugated polyene copolymer rubber (B) and at least on rubber (C) selected from polyisobutylene, butyl rubber and a propylene-ethylene copolymer rubber having a propylene content of 50 mol % or more or an ethylene-&agr;-olefin copolymer (D) having a density of 0.870 to 0.940 (g/cm ) and an ethylene content of 85 mol % or more, said ethylene-&agr;-olefin-non-conjugated polyene copolymer rubber (B) being crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer composition, being obtained by random copolymerization of ethylene, and &agr;-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms and a non-conjugated polyene in the presence of a metallocene catalyst, (1) containing the unit (a) derived from the ethylene and the unit (b) derived from the &agr;-olefin in a molar ratio of 40/60 to 95/5 &lsqb;(a)/(b)&rsqb;, (2) having an iodine value of 1 to 50 and (3) having an intrinsic viscosity &lsqb;&eegr;&rsqb; measured in decalin at 135&deg; C. of 1.0 to 10 dl/g; and relates to a method for manufacturing the same.

The resin composition for a skin member according to the present invention comprises a completely or partially crosslinked olefin thermoplastic elastomer (A) in an amount of 100 parts by weight, an organopolysiloxane (B) having a viscosity (JIS K2283, 25&deg; C.) of not less than 1&times;10 cSt, preferably 1&times;10 to 1&times;10 cSt in an amount of 2 to 20 parts by weight, an organopolysiloxane (C) having a viscosity (JIS K2283, 25&deg; C.) of not less than 10 cSt and less than 1&times;10 cSt in an amount of 0.5 to 5 parts by weight, and optionally, a polyolefin resin (D) in an amount of 5 to 150 parts by weight and/or a fluoropolymer (E) in an amount of 0.5 to 10 parts by weight. The other resin composition for a skin member according to the invention comprises a completely or partially crosslinked olefin thermoplastic elastomer (A) in an amount of 100 parts by weight, a fluoropolymer (E) in an amount of 0.5 to 10 parts by weight, and optionally, a polyolefin resin (D) in an amount of 5 to 150 parts by weight. The laminate according to the invention is formed by laminating a skin member comprising any of the above compositions to a core comprising a thermoplastic elastomer. According to the invention, a resin composition for a skin member, which is capable of producing a laminate exhibiting good sliding properties for a window glass and excellent abrasion resistance and having only a slight amount of a die residue brought about in the extrusion molding, and a laminate using the resin composition can be obtained.

Thermoplastic elastomer based on olefin and process for producing the same

A glass run channel comprising a glass run channel body composed of a bottom wall and side walls extending from two opposite edges of the bottom wall, the glass run channel body having a substantially U-shaped section and provided with a groove, and tonguelike draining parts protruding from vicinities of distal edges of the side walls toward the bottom wall of the glass run channel body so as to become proximate to each other. Each of the tonguelike draining parts has a window glass contact part composed of a surface to be brought into contact with a window glass, which comprises a layer of a thermoplastic elastomer and a layer of an ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin composition. The layer of ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin composition is arranged so as to contact a window glass. The ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin composition comprises at least a polyolefin (composition) having a specified intrinsic viscosity and an olefinic thermoplastic elastomer. The glass run channel is excellent in the durability, tight contactability with a window glass exhibited when the window glass is held closed and supple slide exhibited when a window glass is closed or opened and, even when twisted or bent, is free from a creasing of the ultrahigh molecular weight polyolefin composition layer.

The ethylene/.alpha.-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber composition of the present invention comprises in specified proportions a crystalline polyolefin resin (A) and an ethylene/.alpha.-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber (B) composed of ethylene, an .alpha.-olefin having 3 to 20 carbon atoms and a specific branched chain polyene compound. The molar ratio of ethylene units to .alpha.-olefin units, iodine value and intrinsic viscosity �.eta.! of the ethylene/.alpha.-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber (B) are within respective specified ranges. This rubber composition is excellent in low temperature properties. When the above olefinic thermoplastic elastomer composition is partially or entirely crosslinked, a molding can be provided which is superior to the conventional vulcanized rubbers in low temperature properties, tensile strength, elongation at break and rubber properties.

Ethylene/.alpha.-olefin/nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber

The thermoplastic elastomer composition of the invention comprises a crystalline polyolefin resin (A), an olefin rubber (B), a hydrogenated styrene block copolymer (C), a softener (D), and optionally, a peroxide non-crosslinked type hydrocarbon rubber (E) in a specific amount of each, and has a gel content of not less than 97%. This composition may be mixed with a crystalline polyolefin resin. The thermoplastic elastomer composition has excellent moldability and is able to provide a molded product having excellent elastomeric properties, high resistance to permanent compression set and good appearance. In particular, a composition obtained by mixing this thermoplastic elastomer composition and a crystalline polyolefin resin shows excellent moldability.
